Those are some awesome blades Illyiss. I really love the design of kukris (kukrii? Not sure what the plural of kukri is).

Thanks.

I think plural is Kukris, but I don't recall.  There is only one kukri shown, I do have a couple more, though they are more traditional, and are currently packed away.

I just realized when I used to sell them in a knife and sword shop I was told they were khukuri (At least in Nepal) and the singular and plural were the same. I could have been mislead.

As I understand, both spellings are correct, it has to do with translations.

Go to a Renaissance Festival. Safe swords a-plenty.

One of my favorite swords.

No, it's not actually a gladius(though it is heavily based on a French artillery sword, which was in turn heavily based on the Roman gladius) it's actually an M1832 Foot Artillery Sword, which the US Army issued to gunners to help them fight back against their guns(cannon) being captured or destroyed. Though in reality, it wasn't a very effective weapon for the time. Most artillerymen equipped themselves with revolvers, their swords being primarily used as machete.

Another favorite.

US M1860 Light Cavalry Saber.

I do love a good saber.  Coming from the South, specifically a town with a lot of Civil War history, I have held many actual sabers from that time period.  Something about knowing a man might have had to hold that weapon to defend his life is an experience.  I'd love to get to a museum to hold a sword from European antiquity.

I was actually admiring an old civil war saber a few weeks ago in our towns museum.  I’d never been and saw a lot of interesting stuff.  The old civil war era weapons and uniforms were in fantastic condition.  I can only imagine these things came from someone’s personal collection.

Generally how it goes.  Its surpassing to find out how many things in museums don't belong to the museum and are only on loan

I’m going to jump in too and show some of my swords. I mostly keep display and cosplay swords, but they count too!

I’ve had this since I was 12 or 13 (I’m 30 now).  It’s the With King of Angmar’s sword.  This if a monster of a sword.  No idea what it cost, it was a Christmas present.  I’d say it’s close to the 10-15lb area.  The entire hilt is metal.  It’s endured me bashing things with it over the years, so as far as knockoffs go this is an A+ in my book.

So here it is next to my Flamberge for reference.

It’s much larger than the actual prop.  That and the hilt being so solid.  It’s kind of ridiculous looking in hand lol.
