they arw both heavy grade blades, the orange is actually red. the staff is nedium grade.
i broke the tip off mine in the next demo. we did it 7 tmes in all for 150 people each time . both tips were patched up with clear tape

its a combination of both, there are about 6 short choreographed pieces linked together with what we call free play. thats just us playing around with the sabers. we have trained together long enough to be able to do this at full speed and be able to pull ur strikes if needed. this makes the performance longer so we dont have to choreograph a 6 min routine and hopefully give it a bit of unpredictibilty, just like a real fight and not just look like a dance with a stick. the start , end,all the double saber work, disarm, punch, knee are all choreograhed.. most of our work is inspired from the european long sword masters, which i have trained for years

We were scrambling for an hour to get it fixed because i didn't bring a spare blade. I lived and learned. But that tip didn't break until after months of practices and performances. |
