Along with bB's cosplay group, we put on combat demos, posed for photo ops, and acted the absolute fool. I over heard one patron say we were better than the movie, and the movie hadn't even begun. We also got asked to come back for the Solo release. When is this "old enough to know better" supposed to kick in? |

How old is too old? I'm 21. People say I'm too old for it.
I just saw a post the other day from a member who is 56 and for his birthday his wife bought him his 1st lightsaber! IMO, there is no true threshold for fandom or the hobby. Especially rom the standpoint of participating in Martial Arts. Even from a fun or collector standpoint, it's like saying you're too old to have hobbies or go to an amusement park. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but judgements are a separate matter. I personally don't let people shame me out of what I love... any more than I'd forcefully "mock" their love of sports, movies, music... whatever. Some things have broad appeal across age ranges, how can SW and lightsabers not be in that category? Especially when these specifically are made for dueling that itself implies a certain level of maturity in use and purpose. You do your thing Heartbreak, life is too short to second guess everything that brings us joy constantly if it doesn't affect others in some truly negative way as a result. I mean 21 is like some of the best years/time of your life... in your prime for sure. Great time for martial arts especially. But hey, just my view. |
