Is there ever any plans to have the Obsidian sound boards support Macs? My wife and both have sabers, and both have Macs. We have an old PC I was able to use to load sounds, but Mac support would be awesome! Thanks for listening, Matt P.S. I'm loving the forums here.  |

Finally!! Another Mac user!
I'm currently looking into it, since my own old PC died a while back. Currently it looks like BootCamp is going to be what I'll wind up using.

BootCamp or Parallels (or some other virtualization software) is likely to be your best bet.

I tried Parallels, Codeweaver's Crossover and Wine to no avail. Although I can run the ObsidianUSB program with all 3 of those, the problem is that the Mac's HID API does not recognize the saber connection.
Right now our only option (assuming everyone has an intel Mac) is to have a copy of MS Windows of some sort and do BootCamp.
I use the obsianusb on my mac to sample the various fonts. Mix and match clashes, swings, etc...into a folder then save to a USB thumb drive and then resort to using someone's pc to do the transfer to the saber.
I'm on the look out for a dirt cheap xp laptop on craigslist to do my saber work. The Mac belongs to my wife and she does'nt want to deflower her Mac by putting anything MS into it. I whole heartedly agree.

Bummer. I don't have an Obsidian saber to muck with, otherwise I'd give some things a try. I know that you can monkey with the USB settings for parallels pretty heavily, so I have to wonder if those would make any difference at all.

Since the latest model of Mac are all using ATI cards, so does Scratch 6 support them? Or we have to buy another Nvidia with Blackmagic DeckLink also? Any one...?
What you guys using for the Mac Version?

It is unfortunate... hopefully they will come out with a mac compatible version soon! Until then, you could look into using a buddy's PC perhaps. |

Lol were pretty sure its because she picked it up with one hand and it put pressure on the corner cracking the screen, I wish it was a better story  . Well I guess she broke my old PC screen too she kinda "attacked" me and I stumbled and stepped on my closed hp laptop. She's a laptop assassin. |
