I just bought an Aeon lightsaber and now looking into
getting some action on duels, but I have no background
on blade weapon usage.

Could anyone help me get started?

That's just not as satisfying as feeling your saber clash with another. I do take part in that though lol

You can always use a tree or a punching bag as an opponent. Martial artists do it all the time.  Grin  (well, the punching bag more than trees though, lol)

There are videos online that you can watch to learn the basics. Footwork, your stance, proper grip. Go under expertvillage. These people are usually legit instructors that are used to teach these sort of things to people that dont have the means to learn. Look at swordfighting videos like kendo and aikido and watch how they move and their footwork. Try to learn from them, then try to develop your style. Try to concentrate while practicing and start to feel a comfort level while you are doing different maneuvers.

you can practice on a pell or we have an old tire hung from a tree, alot cheaper than buying a punching bag

I had my brother around to beat on. Recruiting a punching bag... err, sparring partner would be a useful thing. I have enough interested people here in Phoenix to have team battles and such.

I think I'll have to invest in a card board cut out of that Fairy, sorry Vampire, from the Twilight movies.

Haha Gecko that's an amazing idea. I'd probably destroy it in less than a minute though.

I'm pretty sure mine would only last 30 seconds. lol.

It would last exactly 31,3 seconds. i need 0,5 second to turn the cam on, 3.6 seconds to notify my ex of what i am doing (getting vengeance for letting me watch that stuff), 6.5 seconds to slowly and dramatically take 3 steps back and 20.7 seconds to bash the entire thing to tiny bits. Can you imagine the satisfaction we all would get from destroying a walking disco ball like that?

yeah.....but stay away from the expertvillage videos made by tres too (or h/e you spell his name....if tht is indeed his name). ive watched all his videos and the guy cant even preform noto properly.  noto being teh act of returning teh sword to its scabbard.....w/o looking.   heh.....he even talks about using teh scabbard itself as an offhand weapon.  im sorry.....but what is a .5k (1lb) magnolia wood shell going to do against a 1.2k katana?  plainly speaking....this guys an idiot.
