I been tempted for a a smaller blade as well. I got the 32” and no problem height wise but the same balance issue you were taking about. I am also used to a 24” from my kids saber. Also been thinking of a bigger pommel or adding weight to the end.
For me the length is better for my height and balance, however I kind of feel it is too short. I'm going to go through a 3rd party site that does custom length blades and get a 28 or 29 inch blade which I think will work better for me. In your case a heavier pommel might be the best.
