It's my intention to bring a viable lash to the market as soon as possible, but it isn't financially feasible at this point. I either need to increase my revenue from my job or my craft. Work will pick up after the first of the year, when I'll have some spending money available, but most of that money is going straight into Ultra's wallet.
As it stands now, I see the potential for experimentation as early as February. The R&D phase can last months, even years, without input and funding from external sources. I remain confident that a traditional style bullwhip can be made from Ultrasaber-compatible materials. I vow no less than my best effort to make that happen. Keep in mind that I may fail.
I will accept input from any source, and encourage debate and discussion about techniques, materials, methods of design and construction, etc, etc. The better we hammer out a basic blueprint, the sooner a viable lightwhip becomes available for public use. I specifically want an MHS-compatible lash, since the lash itself will be costly to produce (parts, labor, etc). The way I see it, if people can get just the lash, they're more likely to want to expand their collection via customization rather than an entire piece, devoted solely to one weapon.
When/If my build becomes finalized and perfected, I intend to offer the designs to Ultra. If he accepts, it will be one more Ultrasabers custom option available to his already wide and loyal customer base. Ultra, if you're reading this, please feel free to discuss it with me. I want to help out if I can. I think you're doing great things for the Star Wars community and I'd like to be a part of it.
I also have ideas for other components and options that I will not mention at this time. They're mostly just concepts percolating in the back of my brain, but I feel they could also become viable Ultrasabers products in the future. I can see the product line expanding beyond the current limitations of just sabers. I myself want to commission several custom pieces that are in no way similar to the standard configuration. I thought: "Why just get a custom job if I can work out a production model and bring it to the public?"
For now we focus on the whips. I'm gathering data on materials and suppliers at the moment. Anyone who can contribute is encouraged to do so. I'll also pull information on proper whipcracking technique, history of whips and their use, etc, etc, to complete the understanding of their viability in lightsaber combat. I'm pretty excited about the possibilities. We just have to see where they lead.

It is said that energy itself is derived from the interactions between positively and negatively charged particles. The Force, composed of energy and governed by it, is no different. Light or Dark, deny either side and argue against the nature of the whole. Your words cannot split the Universe.
