Cal Kestis & Mara Jade Theory

This is a stupid, random, never-gonna-happen fan theory I came up with. It is for FUN, so I don't wanna see any condescending comments. Save that stuff for Rey Kenobi supporters.

So, what if Cal Kestis was the older sibling of Mara Jade? Crazy right? How the kriff does that work? Hear me out.

First off, Mara's last name 'Jade' isn't her true name. As far as I know, (with admittedly meager knowledge) Mara doesn't know nor could she ever remember who her true family was or where they are, if they were dead or alive, and if her last name was ever truly her family name. The best she could remember were their emotions when she was taken away from them and how afraid she was. Second, Cal Kestis was taken from his parents to be a Jedi like every traditional Jedi so I gotta bet tons of parents of children who are taken to be Jedi would try again to have a baby and actually get to keep it. Not that Jedi forcefully took all their children. That is a horrible misconception of general Jedi activity when finding young Force sensitives. But that's not what I'm talking about.

Mara is about a year younger than Luke, so she's born after Order 66. No Jedi are after her and Sidious finds her some time later in her youngster years.

Mara and Cal have red hair, fair skin tones, both are on the smaller body type and while their eyes colors are different, being green and blue, I have green eyes and my siblings have blue eyes, so really, it's not hard to believe that Mara and Cal could be siblings when they already have a ton of similarities.

Look up a picture of Ben Skywalker. He looks almost exactly like Cal! All the way down to stature and skin tone! Family members can sometimes find a doppleganger in eachother, no matter the relation. So why can't Ben look a little like his dad and his long lost uncle?

So, as a fun fan theory, Mara Jade and Cal Kestis are unknowingly siblings, and Cal is Ben Skywalker's uncle and Luke Skywalker's brother-in-law!

Mara Kestis.... hmmm.
Mara Kestis Jade Skywalker, now Mara can have four names like Padme Naberrie Amidala Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo Skywalker XD.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

So there we have it.

As far as I remember  Leia never took the Skywalker Name.  In the EU it was always listed as Leia Organa Solo.


Its a good theory and one that would fit.....  but is sad that no matter what Mara can't be brought into canon since they made Luke a bitter old coot who never got married.

Its a good theory and one that would fit.....  but is sad that no matter what Mara can't be brought into canon since they made Luke a bitter old coot who never got married.

I've read the books, I know she went by Organa Solo. I just like to add Skywalker to her name personally, if only because while she rejected Anakin as her father for a long while she never rejected her brother.

And it is sad, Mara deserved better, but considering what they've done to Luke without a second thought, I'd rather Mara stay in the EU than be brought into canon.
