Oh, there is no denying that he is a "chip off the old block", in a lot of ways.
Besides our similarity in appearance (33 years difference, not withstanding), we share a love of Star Wars that generally transcends the missteps that George Lucas has made, or liberties he has taken with the stories over the years. We both see it for what it was apparently meant to be, without all the commercial trappings, or Mr. Lucas' predilection for attuning parts of his movies to the merchandising aspect, at the expense of the quality of story telling.
We forgive him for trespasses, and love the rich universe he gave us to play in.

That picture is awesome you get a point. I concur. Those contacts look awesome, especially with the cold white glow of that Raven in the pic. Very intimidating. Thanks, everybody! My husband gets the credit for the shot. He's a much better photographer than me. ^^ (I think the bad hair day helped, too. It's been weirdly humid here for two days and my hair can't take it, but evil isn't concerned about whether its hair is straight  ) Eventually I wil have some makeup to match my skin color with my lekku, but I plan to leave it pretty basic. It's expensive, though, so I'm only gonna do one or two trial runs before GenCon. When those happen, I'll post pics. Now I just need to learn to fight with the saber, and we'll be all set. |

Now I just need to learn to fight with the saber, and we'll be all set. You can start to learn moves on your own without a sparring partner. If you head into the Way of the Saber thread, you'll see posts by people like Masters Nonymous and VorNach. They run the Terra Prime Lightsaber Academy. There are tutorial videos on basic moves from the forms like Shii-Cho and Djem So, as well as spinning and flourishing tutorials posted by Master Nonymous and Master Lucien Kane. I myself started with absolutely zero experience and am starting to feel comfortable with the Shii-Cho lightsaber form, and am starting to branch into Soresu. |
