Can anyone tell me what the current red kyber crystal cannon is...I'm hearing that it has to do with it bleeding rather than just being a synthetic crystal as it was in the OC?

Kyber is a conduit for the living force, and thus shares some of the force's will and is to an extent, "alive". It resonated with its' chosen user which produces the normal colors. Sith however, emphatically transmit their hate, pain, and suffering into the Kyber, which turns it red. Very skilled force-users can also purify the dark-side energy from a red crystal, turning it white.

Which brings up the fallacy about the Force having a "will". It can't, otherwise it's schizophrenic. The Dark Side is not a separate......entity...thing. It is the other side of the coin. So for the Jedi to presume that they are justified in stamping out the darkness is just lunacy. The Force is the Force. It is neither light nor dark; good nor evil. When Qui Gon discovered the "vergence" in the Force, the Force "willed" it. When Sidious enacted Order 66 and the Jedi were slaughtered, guess what.....THE FORCE "WILLED" IT. So why would the Force "willfully" produce imbalance in the galaxy, by giving powerful weapons to one side and not the other?  Current crystal canon is pretentious crap. Also...  |

I have gone a very long time without doing something creative. I think I'm going to challenge myself to come up with my way of making the lightsabers more mystical in way you can accept

I know. I wouldn't have an issue with it if they had always been that way. If their construction were a mystical thing, like this thing  I wouldn't have an issue any of it: the Dark Saber's goofy ass blade, lightwhips, Kanan's dipshell explanation about blades being drawn to each other, crystal bleeding, singing to the Jedi, etc. BUT that's not how they work. They are technology nothing more. Plus R1 completely frelled the idea that crystals had to be bled in order to fulfill a dark intent. |

I could more readily buy them just being tech only if they were much more common. Like Swords in real life.....a peasant could own a sword (indeed depending on time period and location it was required by law that every able man own one). But it wouldn't be as nice or as new as one a Man-at-Arms or King would have...and the peasant wouldn't be as skilled. But indeed it wasn't uncommon. So without some mystical aspect of Lightsaber construction.... it always irked me somehow only the Jedi and Sith could make them. That is a stretch. AS far as Rogue One.... that is chalked up to these idiots not keeping their own crap straight. Doesn't make me dislike the idea. As for the darksaber......they did their best with what George gave them.....

Crystal synthesis was mere science that was aided by the Force. Construction was exceptionally complex and was AGAIN aided by the Force. One of the aspects of hilt construction that was explained to me was that the very intricate components were assembled with micro-welds from the inside. I don't know about you, but micro-welding when there's no line of sight as well as keeping all components in proper alignment seems like something even the most advanced industrial procedures couldn't match. OOOOO Space magic. Now if you kept with the OLD canon, the crux of kyber crystals being used to construct the DS super laser would work just fine. BECAUSE IT'S A BUNCH OF ROCKS. |

Unless its somewhere I missed, the old canon never specifically stated what they did with the Force...just that it was so intricate and tight inside the hilt the Force was required to build one. Now, I am not an engineer. I have no degree or training in any STEM field. I am an ape that enjoys smashing things. So, for me it makes no sense that a Universe that has such advanced tech could not have reasonably created something, within the Thousands of years Lightsaber's have existed, that could put together the intricate workings of a lightsaber. But the heart of the saber...the whole thing that makes it a Lightsaber....if that can only be obtained by Force users. That works just fine. |
