Hi all! I got my Initiate LE v4 some time ago(and I'm loving it), but I was just wondering what the coating is that the saber seems to leave on my hands after lots of use? To my eye the saber doesn't look dirty, but it still always leaves my hands looking dirty.
It's not of major concern, but I obviously would prefer to not wash my hands after using my saber every time. I can post pictures if needed, but I'm not sure how to post them directly to the forum.

Either way, thanks

They may just be dirty.  :-)    When you handle them they pick up oil from your skin and collect dust.   That can come off on your hand later.   I'd try just wiping them off with a clean cloth.  I haven't had to much issue with this myself, but my daughter actually wipes hers down with a little windex...  (good for more than pimples!)

Just clean your saber with a dry microfiber cloth and this will solve your problem. This is what I do with mine.

It is the aluminum. Your hands are literally polishing the metal itself and the same way a white cloth will turn black when it's polishing aluminum, so will your hands with enough friction.

Nothing to do for it but get a good coating for the saber. Some people use clearcoat but that will come off after a while and the same will happen again. Best way to prevent it is get the anodized sabers.
