Hello All!

No less than four months ago I found out that there is an annual lightsaber battle in NYC. A week after that I learned that there is an entire Culture of people that meet-up, spare, and hold events. And about a day ago I discovered a website that you can actually build, customize, and create your own lightsaber!

I have been a SW fan for longer than I can remember.  From my brother, and I sword fighting with $2 carnival swords with no guard because its just a cheap piece of plastic, to swinging around a fluorescent bulb, and buzzing because it looks just like a lightsaber.
I was always fascinated with the form, and fun of lightsaber play.

I would just like to thank you all in my own way for your dedication, and introduce myself to the forum. Don't want to start posting, and people wonder "where did that guy come from?" I plan on creating my own lightsaber, after I have read, learned, and gotten through the info so that I feel comfortable in making the right choice. I live in the Central NJ area, and (now that I know things like this exist) will be participating in sparing, battling, and any other events that distance will allow.

Once again thank you, and Happy New Year!

Welcome to the forum, and to our little hobby.  Feel free to ask whatever questions you may have, as we're all willing to help you find what you need.  Ultrasabers is the way to go for a solid, reliable, affordable combat saber... once you get one I think you'll see for yourself Wink

Glad to see another Jersey guy on the forum too...

Welcome! Always cool to see somebody new! Feel free to ask any questions you've got, and of course, the Review Section and the Search Feature are powerful allies to any prospective Jedi (or Sith). See you around the forums!
