Hey all,

I searched for a thread on favorite ultra saber but didn't find one, so thought I'd start one. My question is, what is your favorite Ultra Saber for dueling and why? I mean, your favorite in terms of balance, weight, grip, length, etc. Not so much aesthetics or color.

I currently own only two Ultra Sabers, and between the Dark War Glaive and the Initiate V2 LE, I'm still undivided. The Dark War Glaive has a huge pommel; a sith could pop a jedi's front teeth out with that thing, which, as Qui-Gon found out, you know, works. Or sucks, if you're Qui-Gon . The Initiate with the 36" blade, though, is sleek, light and quick - quicker than the Dark War Glaive. I like it better. I guess that's just me, though.

I've got two grab bags processing, so maybe there will be one in between the big one and the little one I've got.

So, what's your favorite dueling Ultra Saber, and why?

Gosh, I love all of mine for dueling! I suppose my favorite though is a tie, between my modified SI V2 and my Bellicose. The Bellicose is PERFECTLY weighted and balanced for it, and the SI is just something I'm used to, and though the balance is a little forward, I have simply become used to it and fallen in love over the year or so I've owned it. It's just a great hilt, no bones about it.

I like dueling with all of my Ultra Sabers. My favorite would have to be my Consular. Comfort , balance , loud, Light, and easy to wield with one or two hands. And it just looks great too!

That's good to hear since I just bought one... lol

I know my Luke ROTJ can't count (even though it had custom work courtesy of Ultra) so I'll echo Uilos and go with my original Dominix V1.  My Blazing Red Dominix V2 comes in a close second though...

My Redemption gets honorable mention for being a freaking beastly hilt.

I love my Prophecy V3. It lends itself well to either one- or two-handed usage, The balance with a 32" Mid Grade blade is excellent, and it also makes a great off-hand when paired with my Bellicose.

I totally agree with Vex, Love my Consular,. Though my Dark Shock and Dominix V3(s) are not far behind as well.

My fav is the Aeon.  I love how it feels spinning and dueling with a 36" heavy grade blade.  It spins/feels perfect.  However, equipping a med. grade blade does make it much faster.

The dark arbiter I have in blazing red is just plain evil, and is also very fun to duel with, but, I have to go with the Aeon for the ultimate in dueling for me.

My phantasm V3 offers excellent balance when dueling, but a different pommel is needed i think to balance the hilt and blade if you split the sabers into two. it is good for one or two handed attacks when split and using just one. the staff, obviously is a team effort between your arms and body.
The Bellicose offers great balance and offensive as a two handed saber, but for one hand, it is a little big, but for blocking one handed is a quick and effective way to defend.
it depends on style really, if you like to have lots of grip on your saber, probably best to chose something more smooth.
as far as color goes, there really isnt a bad color to use, however blue is a great color to use in a duel, very easy to see, red is good (big supriseXP) for keeping a good offensive, easy to pinpoint attacks and defenses. Green is hard to track, perhaps because it is really bright and blurs really easily, could be a danger to both user and opponent, orange is the only other color i have dueled with enough to say, but it is a little more faint in a duel, making it harder to block. for some reason, it just is, but its so funny when i whack a friend who i figured was going to block my attack. it always seems like i use other colors, they block easier, but when i use orange, they never see it coming?!

Of the two I have I now like my Dark War Glaive with Dark Catalyst Pommel best for feel.. Its a shame the balance is a bit to the blade though

I haven't tried many sabers from US, but I will say that my DSI with UE midgrade has the best feel to it of any LED saber I've tried. Light, durable, and well-balanced. Hard to beat IMO. I'll know more when my new order comes in, though Wink
