Anyone in the Long Beach area or surrounding vicinity?

To whom it may concern,

After searching to no avail, I am unable to find any sort of lightsaber group that is fairly easy to join and isn't too terribly far to travel to.  LA Jedi would seem like an okay choice, but they're in Pasadena and supposedly only meet Mondays and Wednesdays at around 7 pm or so, which is exactly when I have class.

Basically, I'm fed up and almost desperate for a sparring partner... or eight.
I have these nice sabers just sitting around collecting dust.

If there is anyone in the Long Beach area or surrounding vicinity and is also looking for a sparring partner, give a shout.

Hmm well there are two groups that I know of that meet in a park in Anaheim

One is Orange County Star Wars Society Though they also only meet Wednesday Nights

The other would be Saber Guild. They usually meet on Tuesday nights from 7 pm to 10:30 pm

Yeah you know, those two choices would actually be okay, except that OCSWS meets on Wednesday Nights and the Saber Guild requires a movie quality costume to participate and its more show-based than it is on just hanging out and dueling 
I was thinking of dressing up as Jaden Korr, mainly because his/her appearance in the game JKA is debatable, not regarding the book or two he was featured in, because there's so many different ways to go about portraying him.

I'm not going to lie, I'm highly considering starting my own once I purchase a grab-bag or two. Just something not too big but to bring some people together.

Well you only need to have costume to become a full pledge member and perform in the shows/events. And You can still hang out and learn how to do basic choreography with a lightsaber, Like lately be learning how to do some of the fight scenes from prequels like for example  Episode II's Anakin Vs Dooku and Episode III's Obi-Wan Vs Vadar.  And that usually what we do for the first hour of practice time.


Hmm now that I think about are you by chance going to WonderCon? Saber Guild will have their own fan table there in which you can meet and learn more about us if you are. =)

Aside from all the other cool events and tables I really just want to shake hands with the guys at Ultrasabers and maybe meet up with any other members on this forum. 

You know what, I'll highly consider checking them out, but again, their practice times generally conflict with my schedule.  I'll definitely give them a open-minded heads up at Wondercon.

Point for Warp Drive. That Factor 3 limit is a problem though. Have you talked to the Jupiter Station crew? Depending on your structural ratings, they might be able to upgrade you as far as a warp 8 engine. Certainly outta be able to get you an old Warp 5 at the least.


Anyways... man, I gotta wonder how many of us will run into each other at wondercon. lol Seems all of us locals are planning to go. *sigh* One of these days I'll get a car... maybe then I'll start cruising for local sith to spar against. Seems Anaheim/Fullerton is a relatively Dark Side free area. XD

Nice, I'll be there on Saturday as well hopefully we can meet up then. I'm looking forward to hopefully meeting Emory and the rest of US team as well. =)

Umm Those groups would be Saber Guild and OC SWS. lol While these two groups have and attend events through out the LA and Orange County. They hold their Practice sessions at Twila Reid Park in Anaheim (Not sure how well you know anaheim area) =)
