So Artorius and I got to hang out this weekend, and we made some videos we wanted to share with you all!  Mostly us just goofing around, but we think they turned out pretty cool.

First up is me doing a little bit of dual wielding.  Granted I'm not super experienced with it, but nevertheless had quite a bit of fun.  I'm using my Sentinel Yellow Consular in my main hand, and Artorius's Adegan Silver Initiate v1 in my off hand.

Next is Artorius with his Arctic Blue Bellicose, doing some improv.

Lastly, we have Artorius doing a blend of three Forms:  Shii-Cho, Soresu, and Vaapad.  If you pay attention, you can see where he switches the Forms.

Thanks guys!  We had meant to do some tutorials, but there were some extenuating circumstances that cut down our time somewhat.

Oh man, this is epic.  The dual wielding was fantastic, Mav I've never seen anyone move so fluidly with one of these things.  Just really impressive stuff.  Big props to the most kinetic Shien I've ever seen too.  Great moves both of you.

Usually the video's shot like this are not too clear to see what is happening. Not sure what you did but these where sharp and very clear indeed. I thing the lights where just right...

Thanks, that was something we were actually going for.  I know most times people end up making videos at night, when the sabers look the best, but often you only see the blade.  We figured this way you would be able to see what we were doing as well.

The vids were shot with a 14 megapixel Luminex camera.  We were filming near an apartment complex using building lights from 2 - 4 in the morning.  I'm glad the videos are clear because as Nero said it was something we were going for!

Just remember that slow leads to steady, steady to smooth, and smooth to fast.  Best wishes that you will get there and be happy with your results.

Hands down, that was probably one of the best lightsaber videos I have ever watched.

I know there's a lot out there and there are some really well made ones with stories and effects on stuff, but what was nice is it was just you and the saber, and everything just looked so smooth and intense.

I almost started to imagine there were a bunch of random-mooks surrounding you in the first 2 videos, just to make sense of the clash sounds.

I really wish I could move like that.  I'm always way too structured and I have trouble just feeling the movement and just flowing with the saber (the force?).

Thanks!  I know what you mean about being too structured, that's a very common thing for people trying freeform.  It takes a while before you can just learn to let go and pull out all your techniques in a video, you just have to learn to relax and find your flow.  Also, the transition one Artorius did is one of my favorites!  I really like how you can see the style change so clearly.

Don't mean to double post, but I wanted to say that I moved this to Way of the Saber since we thought it'd be more fitting here.  It's not detailed tutorials per se, but it's definitely something people can take ideas from.
