STAR WARS CAPTURE THE FLAG

The Game

1          Divide players into two teams: The Jedi vs. The Sith
2          Divide territories for the teams and designate two respective “Jail” areas. These “Jail” areas are important because they are also the rendezvous points where you must bring the enemy flag to in order to win the round. The enemy must know where your team’s Jail is located before the round begins.
3          Agree on two items to serve as "flags."
4          Players with cheap plastic Light Sabers are Apprentices, players with UltraSaber Light Sabers are Masters.
5          Hide your flag.
6          Organize your team’s strategy. Split into attacker and defender groups within your team. (Or any strategy of your choosing)
7          Attempt to sneak across the border, find and capture the enemy flag and then race back to the rendezvous point without being killed. If you encounter the enemy see duel section below for the dueling guidelines and health-point system.
8          Hide around your flag or along the border and try to intercept and kill any opposing players who sneak across.
9          Alternative victory method: kill all the enemy players.
10        If any of your players are in jail, you cannot capture the enemy flag, so prioritize rescuing your allies. Win the round by capturing the enemy’s flag and carrying it back to your team’s rendezvous point!

The Duel

1          If you encounter an enemy you may duel him. Your enemy has the option to run away and preserve his life. However, if you catch him and score a HIT on him, he must stay and fight you.
2          If you hit your opponent’s torso with the light saber, you have scored a HIT on him.
3          If you drop your Light Saber at all, and the enemy sees it, you must go to jail. While in jail, you have the option betray your team and join the other team, or stay loyal to your brothers and wait to be rescued. The choice is yours. While in jail you must sit down and leave your light saber ON across your lap.
4          Rescue teammates by sneaking across the border, getting to the jail, and tagging your teammate to free him.

JEDI MASTERS AND SITH LORDS HAVE 5 HIT POINTS
Jedi Apprentices and Sith Apprentices have 3 HIT POINTS

This is a game that my friends and I came up with
so that we could role play and duel together in a more practical way.
Everything is subject to modification depending on your play styles.
Have fun!

Pretty cool.  I'll give it a try sometime.  Might modify the jail rules, because I've never seen any of my friends drop their sabers.  How many people do you usually play this with?

We are organizing this as a game for junior high kids to play, and from what I've seen from their sword handling, they will be going to "jail" often! The game can be played with any amount of people.

We had an awesome group duel at our youth group over the weekend, after we explained the CTF rules and showed them the UltraSaber they were all obsessed! I will post an update after we've had our first official game. Not all of my college friends are as into it. They fight better, but the "story" experience will be much more casual... so I'm hoping to get a little LARP/CTF going with the junior high kids! They aren't afraid to have fun!

It's not an official larp or anything near that. But, hey, if you want to make one in your area I say go for it! Star Wars CTF could bring some really cool flavor to a larp.

I think this is an awesome concept and I might try and run this with a group.  The only problem I forsee are the plastic lightsabers...I'd be more apt to just run with all ultrasabers or similar LED sabers, instead of using plastic.  I'd be worried about sabers breaking, from a safety standpoint and because I don't like breaking people's stuff.  Grin

Oh, wow...  This sounds FUN!

Kinda reminds me of a game I played with schoolmates WAY back in the day....  It was more like Tag, but in teams...

This would make a beautiful ice-breaker game for large groups. I may introduce this to some of the people I know. Cheers Cheesy
