Suggestion Box/Wishlist: what do we want from Ultrasabers?

One I keep bringing up that I can't believe more people aren't into is electroplating similar to the nickel finish but in different metals such as copper or brass. Maybe someone out there would want to shell out the cash for a gold plated saber.

As cool as that sounds, it doesn't seem like it really fits with Ultrasabers.  They are all about providing high quality, combat worthy sabers at an affordable price and a gold plated saber doesn't seem like it fits.  Not saying they couldn't or wouldn't do it, but just my 2 cents.

Gold electroplating would make a nice option on a Mace Windu saber!  Nice way to tie the two wishlist items together.  I know it would be an expensive option,  but it would make an interesting option.  It would also look good as an option on a Darth Sidious saber if they ever make one.

I don't know how it wouldn't fit in with "high quality and combat worthy", "affordable price" is in the eye of the beholder. If copper or brass plated sabers were the same or nearly the same as nickel I see no difference. A gold plated saber (while admittedly isn't for me) would likely cost more I'd imagine that they'd offer it at a fair price. Plated metal isn't a thick coating and if it weren't 100% pure gold it likely wouldn't be as expensive as it sounds. And as far as the combat worthiness, that would be entirely up to the owner. Some people duel with nickel plated sabers without any issues. Sure it could get scratched or smudged but that can happen with any of them, it's up to the owner to determine if they want a pristine display piece or a a battle worn tool.

If you look at videos of the FX lightsabers you will see that the light travels out in a telescoping motion when activated. If there was some way that ultra sabers could master this effect for their that would be so awesome. But then again I have no idea what it takes to do this and I am not sure if it would effect dueling.

Someone else weigh in and correct me if I'm wrong or thinking of the wrong FX sabers, but I believe we're talking about the official licensed sabers. Those have LEDs that run the length of the blade that light up in order to simulate the saber being turned on. The problem is that when dueling (or accidentally dropping it or smacking something with it, etc) the LEDs can break, causing dark spots on the blade. Some of their blades aren't removable as well.
US LEDs are in the hilt and project the light down the blade so that when the blade collides with something the LED is unscathed.

I was thinking that might be the case, but the truth is I don't do much dueling. So if there was a way that Ultra Sabers could make a blade just for this purpose I would most likely buy it.

This is true.
I have an MR Windu saber that I call a junker because UPS damaged it in transit.  The blade is bent right in the middle and the middle LED's are busted.  It still lights up everywhere else except the middle. 

Even if you don't do much dueling there is always a chance of busting an LED just accidentally hitting it on something.

I own about 20 of those fx sabers...we used them for props in some movies we made with our summer campers, & once a month we do "jedi training" with our little dragons.  They are very fragile.  I've even had parts of the metal hilts break before.  Almost all of them have dark spots now.  I believe the only way to make the light travel up & down the blade is with the led sequence lights in the blade tube.  Unfortunately, this is inherently fragile.  Since US goal is "battle ready" sabers, I don't think they will go this route.  If you think about the different scenes where you see a saber turned on in the movies, the majority of the time they simply "appear" with the power up sound.  I think the way US work is very close to the "actual" sabers without the traveling light.  But I agree that it looks cool...I just don't think it's US's thing.

Aeon LE, Aeon v3 LE, Shock LE. That's it, and only in the grooves. I wanna see a saber with more of that anodizing color on it! Or a black and gold anodized saber!

I second that. I love sabers with a bit of gold on it...and windows! What about a limited Edition Mantis with gold?
