Okay so I used to do some medieval reenacting, so I have some medieval garb laying around. So I combined a studded gambeson I have with a white shirt, Jedi belt, black pants and boots and this is the result. Does it make a good Jedi outfit?

Hmmmmm interesting... it's very unique (which I like), and I think it's really cool that you can sorta re-use gear from one hobby to another.  It's definitely a good start, although I personally think a robe would add that final "Jedi" touch.

Still, cool outfit!

Add a robe for the Jedi look. Or if you want to be sophisticated, add a jacket to make yourself look like a Count, and add a cloak instead of a robe. You could totally pull of a Makashi look!

That's a good point!  A cape would be even better!

Thanks man. Smiley I dont have any robes though. Maybe I can get my sister to make me some sometime.  LOL  I do have a cloak that I can wear outside. It will have to be cold out though, as its a real cloak and can get rather warm indoors.

Thanks for the kind words Skydragon!

I'd say use that cloak, and perhaps if you can eventually do so, swap out the shirt for a more traditional style jedi tunic. Or at least something with the Jedi style sleeves. It would make a better blend between the european and more oriental jedi style, more balanced while maintaining the very unique look you have there.

Either way, I like it! It looks awesome. Smiley

I'm still very new to all this, so that what I say with a grain of salt.

It looks really good, but the baggy sleeves kill it for me.  If you had something tighter under the armor I think it'd work better.  Under Armor maybe (and it would be truly under armor, lol), or a body cut long sleeve shirt or something.

EDIT: I'd go with an over-the-shoulder cape too I think.  Or maybe just over one shoulder.  Give it a semi-hidden mysterious kinda look.

I will go out on the limb of the good news tree on this one.

I like the initial look and then it sinks in that it is of course a recycled renaissance faire appropriate outfit.

Now that bit of putting a sad on the table aside, there is real potential in the look IMO.

A nice thought as noted above is a bit of cloth over the shoulder and perhaps draped across the chest/back.

This would add some cool texture as well as camouflaging the studded leather look.

One example would be a lacerna with a fibula

You could also consider a paenula, laena, sagum, or chlamys...which are often used interchangeably

Welcome to the forums!

My first thought for your face...I know that sounds weird to say...but from a costumer, sometimes I just see a look for a person when I see them...for you, at least in the pics provided, a long padawan style braid or a bit of related hanging adornment seems to fit...but it could just be my eye...maybe a subtle colored facial tattoo (make-up), like

Or the like.

Not that you are not good looking as is...I just thought this detail was somehow missing...anyway I could be just in need of stronger meds, who knows...well my cat knows...but he is not saying anything...not anything useful...just stuff like he wants some uranium shavings and cocoa nibs...I mean seriously, who says that?

i agree, a cloak would look good with it. i think better than a robe would in this case. also maybe a sash or obi to go under the belt, the leather on leather looks a bit off (especially as the browns don't quite match). it would add a bit of color in as well. maybe a dark/ muted red or a navy blue or something. i agree, an open sleeve would make it look more jedi and less renaissance. and belt pouches are always a good cheap addition  Smiley

The face tat is a neat idea. Chakotay is always win. Wink

I think a neat idea would be to combine the roman half cape with traditional tabbards, tucked under an obi beneath the belt. That way you can still see much of the armor, but it's softened with a traditional element of Jedi garb on the front, and a unique bit with the half cape cloak deal on the back. That would look sweet, IMO. Smiley

I can direct but I would think to just draw/paint them on...as a strong temp tattoo can last for days...and then you must explain at work, church, etc.
