I recently got a secondary Standard Issue Saber and noticed there were some manufacturing differences from the original one that I had (on/off switch, surface brushing and the blade screw). I'm totally good with the surface brushing and on/off switch. Also, I LOVE that the new design has the blade screw inset into the hilt. Is there a way to replace my current blade screw to be like the new inset version?

Sure, take your old set screw to the hardware store and ask for a headless set screw version of it.  Should set you back about 12 cents.
