Update:

Made headway with the insurance people, they assigned him a new primary care physician and we were able to get him in today.  We also went to the Ortho-specialist this morning, so hopefully no one will pay attention to the fact that the referral to the Ortho is 6 hours later than the appointment for the Ortho was.  He's on some serious pain killers, some antibiotics (just in case) and as soon as the swelling goes down, they are doing surgery.  Right now it's scheduled for a week from today (next Tuesday)

Now if I could just get headway made on my shoulder again...

Hmmm... a vent thread. Gonna vent off abit..

So i was jobless for a while (not exactly, did some freelance here and there) and i went on to find a more permanent job (long term employment) after serving my nation. Didnt have that "practical experience" that the companies wanted. I wrote in to companies in my country looking for jobs that doesnt state years of experience needed and most of them conducted phone interviews.

At the last part, always the last part. "Do you have x years of experience in this line of work?" I replied no, and that after serving my nation i couldnt find a job hence the freelance jobs. And the very last i heard was "thank you very much but we need people with experience"

Fast forward till now, i managed to find 3 jobs that doesnt require any job experience prior and I applied. Out of these 3, 1 of them was a 1 year contract job, renewable depending on the company. The other 2 were permanent positions.

Here's my other vent. That1 year contract job and 1 of the permanent job position were found through a job agency. The other job was through my own means. I formally declined that 1 year contract job as I already informed the job agency that I wanted a more permanent job. The lady was persistent in asking me to accept that 1 year job knowing that I am looking for a permanent position.

Note: the 2 jobs that has openings for permanent positions require a 2 week processing time from yesterday which i informed the lady. And the lady was persistent enough to say this, "it wouldn't be fair to my client if you were to reject this job after going through their interview."

Wow.. just wow.. as everybody know, contract jobs does not come with benefits and job security. Thus i rejected it. But yet the lady is persistent enough to close the case by asking me to accept it with those words..

Well, thats the end of my vent. Hopefully its according to the rules of this thread. Otherwise moderator please delete this rant.

 Sounds about right to me Seiji. I spent a few months looking for work after college, of course no experience, eventually found work at a particularly dreadful online clothing company warehouse who shall remain nameless. Having worked there for three months, which isn't enough experience to get another job, i got shin splints so badly i had to take three weeks off to avoid a stress fracture. Two weeks was the maximum time allowed away from work before summary dismissal, and i knew this, but i didn't have a lot of choice, so i accepted i'd have to go and find a new job, and as i had a doctor's note to explain the reasons for my absence, i should have been fine. Two weeks passed, and sure enough, summary dismissal (on christmas eve as it happens). Then once i got to the jobcentre to sign on for jobseeker's allowance, i got a couple of payments, and then i was sanctioned, apparently it's AWOL if you have a doctor's note and can show a record of having called in every single day. Better than that, this nameless company of ours apparently decided it wanted to keep on giving that AWOL bad reference, which as my only professional reference i was unable to omit from future job applications.

 After nine months of this rubbish, i finally managed to get work at my current job, and still had to spend a full six months on probation before my contract went to permanent.

 Moral of the story; warehouse work is fine. clothing companies is fine. But pay attention to the rumour mill when it comes to certain internet based clothing companies who advertise constantly for warehouse workers.

Yup, that is true! After serving my nation(airforce), i couldnt get a job as alot of stuff happen and i had no choice but to put permanent work on hiatus while working at several freelance jobs. Then finally when everything's seem okay, i couldnt get a job. Much less an engineering job as my experience in the airforce doesnt count. Kinda suck much.

Yup, it kinda sucks when companies do this kind of things to us knowing full well what would happen to us if we were to look for jobs in the future. I always ask my friends who work in certain lines or jobs that I have an interest of on what are the pros and cons and quite often i hear stuff like (dont join my company blah blah blah coz it sucks, not really much of benefits and all. Note: the poor chaps who told me this are those who have not enough qualifications and thus they had no choice but to stay on and hopefully being able to put their children through university and all)

This is random and lame, but I hurt my smallest toe trying not to step on Padawag's tail earlier and I thought I had just stubbed it.  Ha, nope.  That sucker is puffed up like the spawn of Jabba and might be uglier.  Pretty sure I didn't break it, but I have no idea how I'm going to train with it like this tomorrow. . . and I need to train.  I also have a lovely UTI to go with it.  I'm the biggest pile of fun ever!

My shoulder doctor says surgery for my shoulder... the work comp insurance says we want to send you to a different doctor.  So today I have an appointment with their doctor... Their Ortho has lousy reviews on several different websites (like 1.5-2 out of 5 star) saying he doesn't listen, doesn't care about previous diagnosis, is argumentative, and with 23 years as an Ortho-surgeon, is lousy at it.  This is making me feel just wonderful about being sent to this guy.  If I don't start hearing what I need to hear, I'm lawyering up... I'm tired of getting yanked around, tired of being in constant pain, and frankly just f***ing tired.

On a positive note though... my son had his hand surgery yesterday.  1 titanium plate and 6 screws...

If there was some way, I think wiring LEDs into the screw holes would be awesome, then stitch it up and just let it pulse and glow...  I told him I'd get an Emerald driver, 6 LEDs, and we could put the battery pack and a recharge port in his fore arm... he was out of it though, because he said ok.

Wife said no though.

Though... I wonder what Flash on Clash would look like if he hit someone...
