That reminds me of how customers always ask if an associate can "check in the back" for something. Look, dammit. I know what's back there. If I tell you we don't have it? WE DO NOT HAVE IT. There's no magic backroom full of treasured items that we hide from customers.   |

The problem isn't the asking. The problem is when I, the person who stocks the damn thing, know that what the person is asking for is not back there and I tell them so. Then, I get this: "Can you just go check anyway?"
So, I walk off the floor, get yelled at by my supervisor for leaving my zone, and risk losing other potential sales just so I can pretend I'm checking in the back for something I know isn't there. One very smart store I worked at had an inventory list I could easily check in the system and if it wasn't in the system, it wasn't in the store. It saved me a lot time and I could also tell the customer which stores did have the item they wanted.

I'll just leave this self-explanatory vent right here: Hah...reminds me of going to Auburn! Surprisingly on Saturday I also managed to get tired from sitting outside in the shade. I'm pretty sure it was the fact that it was getting towards the upper 90's, with humidity. |

The cat DOES make me feel better, but not about the weather! Honestly, I can handle the heat. I LIKE heat. My problem is the kriffing humidity that just suffocates you the second you step outside. Your sweat doesn't evaporate. Your clothes stick to you constantly. Good thing my Kylo-style hair does great in humidity and isn't perturbed by sweat.  But also, that nighttime forecast is a lie. It stays about 85 at night. I'm looking right at the temperature gauge right now and it's 1:38am . . . and it is 85. It won't be 70-something at night until October. |

Yeah, the humid heat can zap you real quick. I had to help change a water heater in an attic in July once, not fun. My hair also has issues with the humidity. I've let it get longer than the short short style I usually keep it in and the humidity had a field day with it today. |

It seems like people are ordering lightsabers according more to the hilts that are presently in stock, rather than the hilt they might like better, to avoid having to wait.
I've even read on here more than once, of someone changing their order to an "in-stock" hilt.
Was it always this way? If US has to wait until so many orders get placed, before they can place an order themselves, then perhaps we shouldn't publish lists of available hilts anymore.
