Well while most people say "oh, good for them" the sports world will just make it seem like Jesus Christ himself touched them on the foreheads. I mean, there's already talk today on sports talk radio that this was the greatest game 7 ever! That people will remember this for decades. Probably the best game ever played. All that over exaggerated bullspit. I can give a rip less about them, but the Boston connection/sick mofos just adoring the cubs every move like its innovative is too much. And, it also plays into what I consider an East Coast bias. Those people who contend there isn't are those who live on the east coast. West coast games start at 7:30 PST, 10:30 est..really, you think they're watching dodger, giant, laker, clipper, warriors games?? Staying up til 1-1:30 am?? No, I don't think so. ESPN is located in Connecticut, they aren't awake to have an opinion on the west coast |

It may be a sign of some place unexpected freezing over or the coming of end times. It may just be a team that worked hard without letting superstition cause them to give up or manifest subconscious fears as mistakes. It may be their opponents didn't work hard and even expected superstition to do the work for them. I choose to believe it was a game affected by the same factors that affect any team with a result that coincidently hasn't happened in 108 years. Nothing special about it at all.  |

Maybe not "ever", but it was a damn good game. I've never watched an entire ball game on TV until this game. And it probably will be remembered for decades. How often does a team come back from a 3 game deficit to win? And no. With the amount of mistakes the Cubs made, no way in Heaven, Hell, and all points in between will this ever be considered the best game ever played. Interesting, I can see why fans would be celebrating. I have no interest in sports so this factoid was not known to me. Thank you.
There's actually an urban legend about "the goat." Supposedly a bar owner in Wrigley-ville (the area surrounding the stadium) used to bring his pet goat to games. Well, people started to complain about this and during a Series game, the franchise asked him not to bring the goat back. He is rumored to have cursed the Cubs during his disgruntled departure, declaring that they would never win. So according to the legend, the goat is gone. |
