That's fast relief. Glad to hear it. I've been in a motel for 4 weeks tomorrow. Glad to have a job, but this town doesn't want me.

People say when one has been through an ordeal, they develop more empathy. When you've been through something, remember it as a sign of what you can handle. Next time, you can keep more calm knowing what you are able to endure. I hope that makes some sense to you and brings a comfort. It only sort of does to me in my weird brain but still helps.

I hope there are clearer skies ahead for you, too, OBK.  I do very much believe in that philosophy you just shared. I think we don't realize how much we can handle until circumstances call for us to prove ourselves to ourselves, and though we feel a little beat up afterwards, when the dust clears we know more about ourselves than we did before. Life's a journey, that's for sure, full of all kinds of experiences that we never thought we'd have or that would help us in the ways that they do.

Great news Zren! Life throws lemons. Pick them up, cut one open, and go rub one in life's eye every once in awhile!

I lost my an important tool yesterday at work. It a pair of scribers. It's a old, brass compass I've had for 12+ years. Hard to find nowadays, the good ones with the sharp points cuz of child safety...Anywho!!! So, I lost them.
Last day ever on this particular job today. So I'm saying: if it's the will of God, the will of the gods, if I am one with the force, all that stuff, etc... I will find them. Nope.
Power shuts off 10 mins before I'm done. I go up to the 4th floor. Power is on, but my particular breaker is off. So I flip it on. Before it went off, however, I was nailing a moulding off but the nail didn't set. So I pulled the moulding off. Went to go get my dykes to break the nail, which it did, but it left a small head. Couldn't find my hammer. WTF!!! When I do, find it by a random bucket. And in that random bucket....Yup....The force is with me.

Cool. That 'I found it' moment always seems to happen to me long after I've lost a need for whatever it was. For instance, the other day I found a set of keys that had been lost for 2 years. I don't need them anymore, I don't even have what they went to...

There seems to be a lot of bad going around. For those struggling through tough times, I know this probably seems hollow... but it does get better eventually. Don't give up! May The Force be with you.

Hell yes! There, with the bright green duct tape on them that I had put on them SPECIFICALLY so that if I ever misplaced them, I could find them, cuz they'd stick out like an eye sore. I'm thinking either this guy took them cuz of their rarity, or just random accident, but that job, alot of stuff has gone "missing"

Thanks for asking, thats why i love this community. People genuinely care and remember. It's up and down. The other week I was doing a lot of housework and running errands after work so that put a fair bit of stress on it and its been sore this week. Before that it had been doing fairly well, well for my ankle anyway. When we went filming in sand dunes three weeks ago I was up and down sand dunes all day long- so lots of walking in soft sand- and while I wore proper footwear all day which helped, I didn't have any problems with it. A little sore the next day, recovered after that which is quite acceptable. And the weekend before that i actually went for a (very) short run along the beach which is a massive achievement since I haven't been able to run in years.

I think at the moment coz I've been so sick my immune system is quite low and trying to recover, and that's why this infection has been so bad- my allergies have also been worse the last couple months when there's no reason as far as local allergens and things like papercuts and scratches have been taking longer to heal. That probably isn't helping my tummy, coz my body just doesn't have the reserve to deal with things that it could usually cope with. I cant even eat anything overly fatty or it makes me sick (waaahhh, bacon makes me sick now )! I mean, as far as my long term health goes that's good coz I'm reducing my fat intake massively and I am losing weight and im more conscious of sugar and carb intake coz I'm watching what I eat more. But in the meantime, while my ankle hurts, tummy is unsettled, eye is itchy and finger hurts and itches, I just feel crappy and sorry for myself and don't have the reserves to deal with pain and annoyances... And I cant even eat comfort foods coz they disagree with me.

Life sucks some days, and I am going to whinge!

I can however safely eat some lightly salted popcorn. And so I am enjoying my lightly salted popcorn muchly! Huzzah for popcorn! And for rice. I enjoy being able to safely eat rice snacks and NOT get sick from them!
