US must think I love purple sabers since I have three now, two of them being prizes lol. I'll have to come up with some way to customize this one and get a different look out of it than my DSI. You can reverse the connections from unresistored blue + resistored red on the LED to resistored blue + unresistored red to get a pink blade that I believe is Bane's Heart - it's what I did with my Prophecy when I had 3 purple blades. I wanted it for the FoC combo really, but found that when you mix the two channels you get a nice version of VA, which I was surprised to find. Actually, scratch Assassin. I got called up by customs when my Bellicose was shipping because they wanted to know what it was. I can only imagine how much hassle having 'Assassin' on shipping manifests would cause :D * I do think, on reflection, that it would suit a different pommel a little better. The Liberator/Standard Issue pommel with the horizontal lines around it, to match the ones around the mid-section of the hilt, would look great, although the vertical lines on the pommel almost suggest stress lines on a staff that's been torn in two... Julmax, I'm pretty sure you have Initiate blades. For the review, I'm pleading with you to get at least one shot of it in red with the shorter blade! Honestly though, my experience with this was bittersweet, hopefully my next purchase will be better. ANYWAYS, first up is my lovely entry. An Archon 2.1 in BR with a BR AV switch. This saber really fits amazingly in the hands and with the choke point and thin design I find it really easy to twirl this bad boy.

I think it came with a Mid Grade blade as told by the dings in the blade. For a free saber it is amazing and more than i could ever ask for. Yet, the LED didn't work at first so i had to unscrew the emitter to find it's wires cut. I'm guessing when they screwed it on they cut the wires. Thank god they color-code. Yes, it's in the saber. If you take the pommel off and somewhat carefully pull out the battery/speaker assembly, you will notice that there is also a circuit board attached to the battery holder. That is the Obsidian sound board. There is a USB plug on it, towards the speaker end, if I remember correctly. If you got and Emerald saber, there should be another circuit board and another USB plug as well. Congrats on your prize! I wouldn't mind having an Azure Mantis myself! I'm surprised about the broken wires in the Mantis, but if you continue to have any problems, don't hesitate to contact Emory and send it in for repair. US has excellent customer service and won't hesitate to fix it. As for the blade tip coming off, it's a fairly common occurrence which is easily solved with guerrilla glue. As for changing the sound fonts on the obsidian sound board, you'll need to use the obsidian launcher which is a program you can download from a forum to your computer. Threads for this can be found in the in the obsidian section of the forum. Ziran... Unfortunately, I only have the low profile Manticore pommels. The nickel holds up to what I thought would be a polished look that does well to separate itself from it's silver brothers. With the larger pommel two handed grip is no problem which is what I'm most comfortable with. Covertec wheel isn't standard and I had it added as well.

But if it happens again with fully charged batteries all you need to do is remove one of the batteries and then replace it back in. This will reboot your saber and you'll be all set. I love the Manticore, I really love that I can have pretty much any colour I please, I've been playing with the settings to get it pulse just right for me... and thank you to all the people who've posted so much helpful info on the technical details of the emerald driver, seriously helpful. Anyway I am happy as you can tell. Parcel only arrived yesterday so I'll still be exploring the possibilities today. And on another happy note I scored a 4th prize in the raffle. I think it's an Aeon v3? The colour looks like violet amethyst. It's a good length for 2 handed work much like the Manticore. I've circled my prize below. That looks so nice. I'm a big fan of the LE versions in both Aeon and Dominix; it just gives it a classy look. It was so intense that it actually MELTED the lining around it, and the little bar holding the top to the bottom exploded.

I just got home from a long temp duty and finally got to open my second summer raffle entry and 4th prize raffle. This is my first ever order from US. I already commented on the shipping (which was quick, and no duty/brokerage or even taxes for international). I ordered a fully loaded manticore that came exactly as ordered and looks flawless... Cranked it up for the first time and it sounds awesome and looks even better. The raffle prize was a grab bag and I was hoping for a "dark" hilt with a red blade colour... This one is destined for my 4 yr old for Xmas and he is obsessed with darth maul.... Anyway the GB turned out to be a dark standard issue (I do not know the dif between a v2 and v3 but I think it is v3) and it has a blazing red blade colour. thank you US, you read my mind.... My little sith apprentice is going to lose his marbles at Xmas... I am very pleased... My wife made several "you are such a geek" comments but interestingly she asked to hold the manticore and smiled when she swung it around.... I then told her with the 4 channel emerald I can make it pink... "Really?" Ya I might be placing another order sooner than expected.... I keep my eye on this thread wondering if more alumni from the second summer raffle will share the goodies they ordered. It's always great keeping the hobby within the family. My wife knows im a geek but she appreciates my passion for it and the quality of what US has to offer. Plus the world that my 6yr old son and I disappear into when we "play" SW with our US is something we all delight in... :D
