Title: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Deep on December 25, 2010, 05:18:18 AM Welcome to SaberForum.com hosted by UltraSabers. Everyone make yourselves at home. We'd like to keep the community here fun and laid back. You're not going to see some gigantic post full or rules and regulations. We need your help to get this ball rolling here though. We want everyone to drop by and say hello let us know who you are. Post a review about your favorite Ultrasabers. Ask any questions you may have. Ask the community questions. Trade ideas. Show off your Ultrasaber. Whatever you feel like. We're all one big saber family. Let's get comfortable.
Here are some things the SaberForum community has to look forward to: discounts exculsive to ACTIVE forum members, giveways, contests, promotions, additional rewards (for reviews, etc), raffles, and more. We plan to make this a rewarding experience for everyone. Let's have some fun. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Big Boss on December 25, 2010, 06:03:36 AM discounts you say? my wallet already feels a little happier :) only a little though since my saber addiction will never end! :D

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Ashla Knights on December 26, 2010, 10:24:10 PM Hello Ultra Sabers, my name is Derek M. Thompson and I'm happy to be a new member of this forum. I'm from The Order of Ashla Knights (http://ashlaknights.net), originally a Jedi philosophy based web community...now we're just a philosophical/spiritual based site who practice a path similar to the Jedi Way. I suspect, and understand completely that philosophy and spirituality is not the purpose as to why this site/forum was created and it is not why I've decided to join. We've been working on developing a Saberist Program for the last several years and its near completion, if the administrators of this site/forum do not mind, I would love to share some information with this community which can be found here: http://ashlaknights.net/downloads/saberflow.pdf and also here: http://ashlaknights.net/blogs/blog/2010/11/28/saber-flow-tournament-championship-2013/
Again, if it's okay with the administrators, I'd like to drop in from time to time and update you on news, media and information as we progress with the development of these programs. In addition, admins if you'd like to link exchange please feel free to contact me anytime. :) Thank you all for your time and I'll certainly be popping in from time to time to say hello. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Ultra on December 26, 2010, 11:42:25 PM Sure you can drop in to share your information anytime. We welcome the exchange of ideas.

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Kaiser Xander on December 28, 2010, 06:44:56 PM Hello everyone!
My name is Alexander. My brother and I will be getting our sabers really soon. Eventually (and this is a LONG ways away) we hope to do a comic little Youtube series using them. ;D This is just something I'm curious about, Mikkyo, what is your definition of heavy dueling? I'm just curious as to what qualifies as "heavy." Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Torinn Zoler on December 29, 2010, 03:28:09 AM Hey everyone! :) Glad to be a member of these new forums. I'll post a review of my Bane as soon as I get it back. ;)

I bought a US Liberator a few months ago and I am very impressed. I think I'll do review of it soon and show the small mods I've made. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on another one! I have to balance my funds between buying another US and building another custom!

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: tiger salamander on January 08, 2011, 03:36:28 AM Dropping by to offer greetings. I own 9 MR FX's and received my first ultrasaber for xmas (Shock, Adegan Silver with Sith sound board).
I'm considering retiring my MR collection in favor of an Ultrasaber collection, seriously. I'm not a big fan of the cheapo Hasbro sound board. The Jedi idle hum is annoying. The Sith idle hum slightly better. Howver, the Sith sound board sounds great in the Shock. It has a deep resonance to it and sounds closer to what a saber should sound like. I'm very satisfied. I like to do my own modifications. Does anyone know if the sound board is re-programmable? Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Ultra on January 08, 2011, 03:41:56 AM We put alot of engineering effort into the Shock especially to make sure it had good in-hilt resonance due to it's different pommel shape. We're glad you like the result.
Unfortunately, the board isn't re-programmable. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: PiroGothic on January 08, 2011, 03:50:36 PM Just dropping by to say Hi I'm pretty new to Ultra Sabers but My friend is Starting his own Class in Austin similar to http://www.newyorkjedi.com/

I don't remember which sabers he has but one has sound and one can change colors. He brought one to the last game my paintball team hosted, and I was quite impressed by how durable the blade, hilt, and pummel were and how vibrant the color was, and how realistic the sound was. Thanks to my friend I'm going to save up money to purchase my own. Maybe the Darth Maul double hilt.
Keep up the great work Ultra Sabers. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Darth Pestilence on January 14, 2011, 06:51:45 PM I have wanted to purchase sabers from this site for a while, and the 15% off makes me want feed my addiction.

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: TheJediShadow on February 04, 2011, 06:19:14 PM Hello. Pretty glad I signed up for this forum thing. I'm a proud owner of an old Malice, and i'm thinking of soon getting a new Phantasm. Me and my friends have saber duels regularly, and put backstories behind them (we're all basically 15-16 years old, so i think thats okay :P). We all use Ultrasabers due to them being the most durable, and have the best value for the money. So i have to say: Thank you Ultrasabers, you made the duels that much more fun (and painful :P). ;D
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Darth Hett on February 12, 2011, 07:14:20 AM yeah thanks ultra sabers, i have bought sabers from alot of other sabersmiths and i must say yours are the best for dueling.

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Kaiden Shardsbane on March 11, 2011, 11:01:03 PM Just saw this, so... Hey everybody. I'm new to the saber scene, as I've never had the money to afford those $400-$500 sabers until I found this little link on one site that led me here. Suddenly there are sabers available to me that aren't crappy plastic things! I immediately bought two saberstaffs for use as four single-sabers, and after about a week of dueling modded the heck out of two of them. Three or four weeks later, I'm still marveling at the radiance they produce, despite never having their batteries changed. Etc, etc. You all know the story.
I love the forum here. It's shown me that yes, in fact, there are other saber enthusiasts out there, contrary to what the people in my hometown want me to believe. I've dreamed always to be a Jedi.. as kid it started all :) And with Ultrasabers I will be one earlier or later :) I love star wars.. but all I own are the DVDs.. so I'm an example of being a person who don't collect Star wars articles or studying the story, but still wants a Lightsaber badly :) (Don't interpret this wrong, this is no insult :D.. I'm an Weabo :P ) Thanks for your attention.. and let us have alot of fun :) Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: ti-kaan202 on April 15, 2011, 02:28:19 AM Is there any light saber that is shown in the light in a rod, bar-like form without the round plastic tube coming from the hilt????

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Jodaan on May 30, 2011, 03:27:12 PM Hy there ! I'm Benjamin, newborn in the LED-sabers world !
So, I'm huge SW fan, falling back to all this stuff due to KOTOR's daemonic influence. So when I finally bumped into ultrasabers' website with all the sabers and all, I knew I fell deeply into that thing. Else to say, I'm french and I will speak to everyone I know about this place 'cause I can't let my people ignore the awesome stuff you got. So, if when I receive my order, the sabers are just half awesome as they seems to be, it will be just a daydream. Thanks from a geek ! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Warlock Umbra on June 11, 2011, 01:42:33 AM I just want to say, I am sooo appreciative of this forum and how friendly it is. I signed up on Fx-sabers forum a couple weeks ago and alot of the people on there are NOT friendly. Don't get me wrong, they're not all like that, but it's not a real welcoming place! :-\
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Qui-Tom Helms on June 11, 2011, 02:07:18 AM I would like to say thank you for creating this valuable, friendly forum. I have learned quite a lot in the short time I have been a member, and am still finding out different things each day that I sign in. Although I am not electronic savy, some day I would like to build my own saber. For now, I'll just buy my sabers from ULTRASABERS.
Thanks again... Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: tekering on June 16, 2011, 04:46:36 PM Greetings from Japan!
My name's Ted, and I've recently joined the Jedi Order in Kobe, which is affiliated with the 501st Japanese garrison. We march in local parades, participate in festivals and perform mock lightsaber duels. Dozens of our members have MR sabers, and treat them very gingerly... I'm looking forward to introducing Japanese fandom to UltraSabers! For starters, I'm ordering a ROTS Anakin with all the bells and whistles, and I'm hoping UltraSabers' new CSO division can attach a D-ring to the bottom, like Luke's ESB version. Any idea how much extra that would cost, Ultra? If the product is as impressive as comments here and elsewhere would suggest, you can expect a lot more orders from us in the future! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Tywann on June 21, 2011, 05:13:35 PM Hi Saberforum !
My name is Laurent, I live in France in the city of the prototype car race "the 24 hours of... Le Mans" :D I am 35 and as a lot in our generation and all in this forum, I am a StarWars fan ! Glad that Ultrasabers is doing so well with this new sound card and I wish you a real success in your new project ! Specially the Custom section operation ! I have a Force FX Obi Wan ROTS and I plan to buy some hilts from Ultrasabers in the future, especially a Raven and the brand new consular hilt with Obsidian :) Greetings from France, dudes :D Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Lucien Kane on July 11, 2011, 04:21:40 AM Hello, I am known as Lucien Kane, recently picked up a phantasm in blazing red... I have some other sabers from other places, so far I'm happy with this product... I'm very interested in the obsidian sound board.
I'm from Southern California, and I'm an avid duelist, I post lots of videos on my youtube channel, so if anyone needs a partner in this area I'm your guy. I have three now, one Metal Dark Initiate V2 , a full blown Bellicose, and a PVC Saber (it looks like a prophecy).
Loving them so far, already practicing spinning and fighting styles. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Thrawn on August 02, 2011, 10:23:18 PM Hola folks,
I'm Scott. I've ordered several different sabers throughout the years as a hobby and finally decided I should join and share with everyone else. Time and lack of skill prevent me from doing any customizing, but I do enjoy a good saber when I see one :) Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Jaanpo Kortec on August 08, 2011, 12:32:28 AM Hey Everyone,

I've already been posting here and there in the threads, but I guess it couldn't hurt to go all official introduction and stuff :P
Anyways, the name's Manuel aka Danakar Endeel both on these forums and on the SW:TOR forums from BioWare aka Miltiades on the official Elder Scrolls forums from Bethesda Softworks (I've been a moderator there since 2003 or so) ;D 35 year's old and living in the Netherlands. And no, I don't wear wooden shoes, live in a windmill or smoke weed all day whilst looking at tulips. :P I came across these forums because I own a Master Replicas Mace Windu saber and thought I saw better quality ones at one time in the past that had a removable blade. Turns out I couldn't find those particular sabers anymore, but then came across UltraSabers. And that's where I stopped my search and finally said 'I'm home' :) Now all I need is to stabilize my creditcard as it was running on fumes (especially for the anticipated SW:TOR where I preordered the CE) and find myself a saber that speaks to me... At first my eyes fell on the serene and noble Shock LE; until I found out that the singlecolor versions apparently sold out already. So now I'm oogling both the Belicose and the Consular as I not only want to have a cool saber, but also one with cool sound! Greetz, Manuel/Danakar/Miltiades *lol* Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Ultra on August 11, 2011, 12:13:36 AM (http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2189/welcomepr.jpg)

Might as well introduce myself I suppose. Name's Jordan Sharp, I'm an actor living north of Toronto, ON, Canada, 23 years old, and ever since I was introduced to this site back in early July, I have made it my mission to convince as many of my friends as possible to get a lightsaber from you. So far I've had sucess on 2 others, with several more on the fence. I strongly believe there needs to be more ultrasabers in the world, so I'm trying to do my part to spread the joy. And when my saber gets here on Friday, I'll be posting a review of it, you can count on that. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Dane Rholar on September 07, 2011, 03:02:18 AM Hey there! I'm from Belgium and I'm 18 years old as of July. I love videogames, the internet, I collect 1/6th and statues, and I like collecting Sabers. I sadly don't duel due to physical disabilities, but I still enjoy holding them and looking cool with them.

I've been stalking Ultrasabers.com for a while now and I'm impressed by what I've seen. I didn't join because i didnt make a saber purchase so I felt kind of unworthy. But I am proud to say that i placed my first saber order during the Halloween sale and I'm very excited to receive it.
Any way... Hi... Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Vex on October 25, 2011, 12:24:56 PM @Envy

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Envy on October 25, 2011, 08:27:00 PM @Envy I ordered 2 Initiate V3 Hilts with the LE Finish and Violet Amethyst Blades I like the silver/gold/purple combo ... as well as the coupler to make the Phantasm V3 LE.What did you order? this way I can let a saberless friend use one for dueling or i can dual wield or staff wield. I think this is a good place to start but I am saving up for my "Dream Saber" which will have all of the bells and whistles. Is it bad that I am already looking forward to my next purchase? I recently ordered my first UltraSaber, a Bellicose with a Fire Orange blade. Love it! Already making plans to get a few more sabers, they are more addictive than tattoos. ;D Thanks to anyone who has answered my questions, and I look forward to more interactions with my fellow saber fanatics!

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Artorius Vidnyl on October 31, 2011, 01:04:49 PM Well you've come to the right place. I hold a 3rd degree in TKD so I understand your desire and I think I can help.
You'll want something light (all the hilts are machined aluminum) and not too long. My recommendation would be to get a SI staff (called either Phantom or a Phantasm) or an initiate staff (Called the same thing with the word Initiate tagged on). The guys on the forum can tell you about combined hilt lengths as my model is v2 and they now sell v3. Next issue, dependent on your height you'll want a specific length staff. 6' probably being max. Because of this I suggest you get mid grade blades. Probably in the initiate size (24" blades). Reasoning: Each initiate blade is 2' long for a total of 4' length. The combined hilts (if you go standard and not initiate) will be close to if not over 2' long. Combined total of above is 6' If you go with initiate hilts you won't have as much manipulatable staff section BUT you can have longer (and thus cooler) looking blades. You can get 30" or 32" blades. You can always cut a blade down but you can't make them longer. Sound is the final issue. For your purposes you can get sound installed in a single hilt instead of both. Saves you money but will create a balance issue and if you decide to disconnect the staff and dual wield you won't have sound in both hilts. Anything else you need to know post it and you'll get an answer. Cheers. I wanted to test the durability of it before I bought anymore. It was a Dominix (V1) with a Heavy dueling blade. Well... 2 Years later (With HEAVY ABUSE), I finally got a problem from it. The On/Off switch popped out! (LOL it's back in now!) Needless to say, I was sold. I have since purchased 3 Phantom V2s... The family and I could NOT be happier!
My Jedi name is Sheik Godo... Sentinel. In real life I'm a Gymnastics coach with my fiancee. I also do a Free-running, Parkour, and Tricking clinic. I've studied many martial arts, but don't practice any. I believe a strong body and mind is the best weapon regardless of martial training... Also, the best way to handle a confrontation is to prevent it from escalating to the point of violence (Hence my interest in Jedis! LOL)! I hope to purchase MANY more sabers for some of my students, and make a few friends here who (whom?) share a common interest! ;D Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Artorius Vidnyl on November 26, 2011, 04:54:16 PM Hi! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Rel on November 30, 2011, 01:28:25 AM First post!
I have been lurking on the site for most of two weeks, apparently there was a glitch in the approval process and I had to wait a bit. But the wait was put to good use. I have been pouring over the threads and posts. A quick Star Wars and Jedi related summery; I was first in line for the original in 1977 as a bright eyed 12yr old...been hooked ever since. I started studying martial arts with Shorin-ryu Matsumura Seito the same year. I stayed with this style for seven years reaching brown belt...for you of young age, old school karate had white belts, brown belts, and black belts...that's it ;D Once I left HS I joined the USMC and started studying Shotokan and USJF Judo...same instructor. I stayed with both for four years and then the fun began...I switched services to the USCG and moved around every year or so for the next fourteen years. I studied with any school I could find...the usual suspects and a few exotics like Stone Throw Monkey Kung Fu, Muay Boran, and Qigong...but I ended up focusing on Judo. While I tested for shodan in Judo and Shotokan it was hard to maintain progression with one organization due to some of the remote locations, so I gave up the belt search years ago...emptied my cup as it were...never looked back. After 911 I my retirement was cancelled and I was transferred to Homeland Def...Marine Anti-terrorism. I ended up getting involved with training police style takedowns, cuffing, and control measures. My work life was primarily in technical (electronics, electrical-mechanical, fabrication, inspections, etc.) fields. I have apprenticed as a taxidermist and a tailor. The majority of my recreational pursuits have been in various artistic fields such as sculpting, mold making, and casting. As such I am looking forward to customizing and/or scratch casting a light saber very soon. I have a small forge that can handle lighter metals like aluminum, brass, and bronze. Anyway, that is about it...if you are wondering how to squeeze all that, have a wife (or two), and four kids (17, 18, 20, 26)...well you need a weird brain like mine, too many connections...I rarely sleep more than two hours a day and I have an uncontrollable need to gather information like a squirrel hordes acorns. I suspect that had I been asked 15yrs ago I would have favored the dark side...now I seek redemption and follow the way of the light side ;) I look forward to many interesting conversations. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: directorcass on December 16, 2011, 10:54:12 AM New member here, but not new to sabers. I have had almost all of the MR FX sabers over the years, several converted, a few Ultra stunts, and even built a Graflex with a US V1. I moderated over at FX-Sabers for a while a few years ago. I got out of that and sold off all my sabers except one stunt that was custom machined. My last saber was a converted Hasbro Obi TPM. That was a nice saber and I miss it.
I have been looking to get back into sabers lately and found my way here. I really like the way the forum here is set up. I have a lot of reading to do to catch up on all the latest saber advancements. This FoC feature I'm seeing is very awesome! That makes a saber complete in my book. I really hope to add the Guardian after the holidays are over to start my back into collecting sabers. A custom saber based on the best saber design, with sound, with FoC, for under $300? Holy crap! It's a good time to be getting back into sabers. Thanks Ultra! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Vex on December 16, 2011, 04:28:02 PM Welcome to the forum!!
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Darth Severus on December 20, 2011, 06:49:08 AM New to the forums just got my first saber on saturday, and early christmas present from my wife who is the greatest. I have a DSI in BR which I hopefully will post a review on tomorrow. Short version it is an amazing product, I read the forums and was impressed by the reviews and the community and after actually holding and looking at the saber, the forums and the videos and pics do not do it justice. For $65 the DSI is one of the bigest bargins you can find for any product. I plan on buying a five sword rack and filling it as quickly as my income allows.

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Arcadius on January 11, 2012, 09:21:17 PM I've been a member of the forums for close to a month now, and I just realized this thread was here.
Anyway, I am a Sith lord in training named Arcadius (real name = Vincent). I recently (during the Christmas sale) purchased my first saber - a Phantom LE V3 in Pyrestone Orange. Prior to that, I've had two other US sabers - an old PVC (the original standard issue) in AS (died on me about two years ago), and an Omen, also in AS. My Omen is out of commission at the moment, but the problem is likely with the battery pack (it looks like the batteries leaked a bit of acid onto the contacts). I'm looking forward to eventually sending my Phantom in to get Obsidian added (I already have the Li-ion setup), and am seriously considering another saber when I can afford one. My choices are currently between an Overlord, Consular or Dark Prophecy V3 - I'm leaning toward the Overlord and Consular for their MHS emitters and quick disconnect ability. That one will most likely have sound, and be a Violet Amethyst or Dark Violet Amethyst, possibly with an Arctic Blue or Bane's Heart MLS led that I can switch in if I choose to. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Graywolf727 on January 11, 2012, 09:30:47 PM Hello all. I kinda forgot to introduce myself upon joining but I figure its not too late.
Anyway feel free to call me Rykel, graywolf, Gwolf, ect. I am a long time fan of Star Wars since I was little and got to see A New Hope during the 97 re-release. I have yet to buy an Ultrasaber for myself but hope to change that by the end of the month(damn bills have been getting in the way!). I love doing stage fighting and choreography with my best friend but have been using kendo sticks after destroying a Master Replica Luke ROTJ going full speed. Anyway hope to start to contribute with pics, vids, and reviews very soon. And thanks for answering my questions thus far, this seems to be a great community. After that I am still deciding what to save for. I want to get a fully loaded saber within the next month and am between the Bellicose, Raven, and Guardian. I hope to make a custom staff later when I could afford another hilt so I also am trying to figure out what two of them will go together best and am leaning towards a Guardicose, which I think would look pretty sick! Welcome! Some pretty cool ideas you got there... here's a suggestion which could save you money as well as give you a more balanced staff. Go with the Aeon or Dominix now, enjoy your first stunt hilt, and save up for the tricked out one like you said. Once you get that one, save up for another Dominix or Aeon, and buy it in SY with a coupler. That will give you a very functional staff as well as a really nice Obsidian-equipped saber. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Arcadius on January 12, 2012, 02:20:42 PM Welcome! First metal hilt in PO = Great choice. The Overlord is more Sith but that's ok with you. VA and DVA really depend on if you want a pinker purple, or a bluer purple? I love the PO color - and it looks great on the primary black tone of the Phantom. What draws me to the consular is the removable shroud. With the shroud, it can be hidden as a Jedi like weapon (throwing off hapless fools who would assume its owner is a Jedi). Without, it is definitely more Sith like. The Overlord just looks awesome, and I think would give me more options for what emitters would look good. I'm particularly thinking the war glaive (black finish for the body, silver claws)... I think that would be a sick combination. Color wise, I know what Magenta looks like - I've done enough graphic design, print work and color photo development that I'm very used to the color. That would look fantastic I imagine. As for the VA verses DVA, if I'm going for Bane's Heart, the VA might be too close, so I'm thinking the DVA (more blue is appealing). I hope to make a custom staff later when I could afford another hilt so I also am trying to figure out what two of them will go together best and am leaning towards a Guardicose, which I think would look pretty sick! This makes me very happy. You should do what Master Nero said. ;D I love the PO color - and it looks great on the primary black tone of the Phantom. The Consular is MHS compatible at both ends as well but I have to say that the Overlord with the War Glaive emitter. I love everything War Glaive, The choke would add fantastic spinning capabilities; very smooth. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Graywolf727 on January 12, 2012, 07:39:19 PM Welcome! Well I am definatly going with the SY saber for dueling first then I am thinking of going with the Bellicose since even fully loaded it is a bit cheaper than the other two. As for what I want to combo it with idk. I think the Guardian would fit better in terms of overall looks and will probably look to make that next on the list behind the Bellicose. Although the Raven is calling out my inner dark side....crap I just had an idea that will cost me even more money. While typing this just now, I had an idea for a Sith staff. A Raven+Dark War Glaive with one in BR, the other in PO, and custom leather wraps....Now I really gotta pull for that raise at work. I'll be sure to post my pending customizations once they become reality.

It's rugged, simple, and elegant - plus the Guardian Blue is one of the best colors IMO. I'm sure you'll be itching to get more once you receive your first ;) Welcome! I'm currently planning a freezemob kinda similar to the one for TOR, but this time for TPM3D in my country Anyways, quick question. which blade looks the brightest with Arctic Blue? I'm looking for a saber that's the brightests and able to endure some heavy dueling, and has no dim. Any ideas? I have to order the saber as soon as tomorrow! My Arctic Blue Bane looks just fine in an UltraEdge Heavy Grade BUT, it makes the saber blade heavy. If you plan on going full force than get yourself a Heavy Grade. Though the Mid-Grade blades; including the standard UltraEdge are designed to bend slightly on the hit to absorb the impact and recoil to allow for quicker movements. I assure you that Arctic Blue (AB) is bright and vibrant; it shines very well through all the blades. OH! Almost forgot. Welcome to the Forums! ;D Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Nero Attoru on January 18, 2012, 04:03:42 AM Hey guys, new guy over here. The heavy grade blades are the most durable, but they have some dimming due to the thicker walls. The midgrade blades are still very durable, but are lighter and brighter, so I typically recommend them. The saber you will have to decide for yourself but if your hands are small than get an Intiate V3. Also the standard Heavy Grade should suit your needs just fine, though you may want to wait to see if someone else offers a different opinion. I like MG, but my wife swears by UE. Personal Opinion matters. ;D If you have the money should just buy the opposite of what you decide on as well. Props to Master Nero, he mentioned it just a moment ago in another thread. That way you have two different blades, because pictures are fallible; you won't know exactly what you like until you see it in person. So If you can buy the HG and the UE-HG. I love everything War Glaive, The choke would add fantastic spinning capabilities; very smooth. To be honest, having seen both possibilities (Consular + DWG/silver claws and Overlord + DWG/silver claws), I'm heavily leaning toward the Consular. With the shroud, it looks fantastic, and I honestly don't like any of the other mhs emitters anywhere near as much (including the consular's). I'm thinking that Bane's Heart will be the primary LED color (of course with quick disconnect), and Dark Violet Amethyst as my second MLS (although based on how much I love my Pyrestone Orange, that might be a really strong contender). I've seen personally what you mean about the spinning capabilities - my master has a custom saber he's working on with a war glaive emitter. It handles like a dream. Fortunately, Saturday was my 22nd birthday, and an old friend of mine asked for my current shipping address in order to mail me the empty bottle of top shelf whiskey he had gotten for me as a gift...and then this morning informed me the empty bottle was actually an Ultrasaber. Needless to say I'm absurdly excited, and it doesn't help that I don't know what the saber is, all he will tell me is it's a basic "dark" saber with a BR LED. I'm assuming it's a dark SI or a Dominix v2 or v3, but I can't be sure. Anyways, on a more personal note, I'm a big Sith fan, believing they are capable of both good and evil, while the Jedi are capable only of sitting around trying to convince themselves to calm down before they get too excited lol(don't take it too personally light side fans). Also I'm currently playing a lot of SWTOR on the server Kinrath Spider(Empire of course), if you're on there feel free to say hi! Anyways, I'm done rambling now... Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Rel on January 31, 2012, 04:52:59 AM Anyways, on a more personal note, I'm a big Sith fan, believing they are capable of both good and evil, while the Jedi are capable only of sitting around trying to convince themselves to calm down before they get too excited lol Hmmm...first off, welcome and congrats on getting your first Ultra Saber...second, uh huh...Sith, capable of both good and evil while Jedi are pacifists...well let us just agree to disagree as I am sure that is just your want a be a Sith nature coming forward, trying to goad a Jedi into ending your painful and evil life...I understand now...you mean to say that the only good moment in a Sith's life is in his death, gotcha! Welcome to the forum! ::) Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: WoodenKiwi on January 31, 2012, 06:15:10 AM Haha I can see where you're coming from but in all seriousness I can explain my theories on it a bit better if you like, though keep in mind it relies on the Jedi and Sith as they are in games like KOTOR and SWTOR, and not so much how they were portrayed in the movies. It mostly has to do with the force being un-aligned to morality, but instead light side and dark side are life vs. death, creation vs. destruction, pacifism vs aggression, or in other words just two highly powerful but equally opposed natural powers. Next, if you look at the Sith and Jedi oaths, you can see neither side is morally aligned either.
There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force. Peace is a lie There is only passion Through passion there is strength Through strength I gain power Through power I gain victory Through victory my chains are broken The force shall set me free As you can see, neither code says anything about love, compassion, cruelty, insanity, what have you. The Sith are not evil, and the Jedi are not good, but rather the Sith embody ever-presence and all-encompassing, while the Jedi embody ideas like nirvana, and pure balance through the lack of all influence, either internal or external. The Sith are a craving for all, supported by the forces of destruction, while the Jedi are a craving for lack of all, while being supported by the forces of creation...which in my opinion is why the Sith haven't taken over the entire galaxy, and the Jedi have never faded away into peaceful non-existence, the force won't let them. But all in all, it comes down to the idea that a Sith can be benevolent and kind, while still wielding the darkside and embracing passion, just as a Jedi could be selfish and cruel while still keeping his emotions in balance and wielding the lightside... Sorry, that went on for awhile...worst part is the theory goes deeper, but I need to be a tad drunk and talking to you face to face to fully explain it :P Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Master Nero Attoru on January 31, 2012, 01:29:00 PM Welcome WoodenKiwi, I think you'll like it here (considering the fact that you're already debating philosophically about the Force!)

Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: SpiderJedi on February 13, 2012, 05:42:23 PM Hey everyone! I am trying to get back into saber collecting again, and decided I want more unique sabers this time, so Ultra Sabers came across my searches. I've checked out what you guys have and am looking forward to being able to get my first saber from you.
I've been a Star Wars fan as long as I can remember, and the thing that really cemented me to Star Wars fandom was the lightsaber, it's my favorite weapon of all time. In the past I collected a bunch of sabers. I had a number of Master Replica Force FX sabers (ROTJ Luke, Darth Maul, Mace Windu, Vader, Anakin), I had a bunch of hilts (Dooku, Sidious, Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Vader), and of course an innumerable amount of the toy lightsabers. But it all started for me back in '99 when I got my first toy saber for Qui Gon. Unfortunately, times were hard, then I moved a few times, toys were broken, and then I got married. Now I am down to just a couple of my toy Hasbro sabers as I had to sell off my nicer ones in the past, but do still have a couple of the hilts of my first MR Force FX sabers. Anyway, I'm glad to see a thriving community that are enthusiasts of the same thing I am, and look forward to being a saber carrying member of this community. -Nathan | @SithKnightmare Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Kham-Ryn Kurios on February 13, 2012, 05:44:27 PM Hey everyone! One of my first sabers was a plastic collapsible Oui-Gon saber. Feel free to ask questions, we like helping people decide on what to get; since it's kind of overwhelming. ;D Thanks! It is a bit overwhelming, but I think I am wanting to get a staff with sound. Currently looking between the Phantom Initiate V3 and the Phantom V3. I think I want the LE hilt, because from what I gather the groves in the hilt are then a different color, or what looks to be exposed metal. Can't tell for sure with these 2 sabers in the pictures in the store. I'm thinking of a green blade that flashes sun rider's destiny. I'm not sure what the pommel is all about, need to do some more research on that, but am getting a black coupler. Thinking about the UltraEdge Heavy Grade 36" for blades. I don't really get the sound with switch option yet either. But, as stated, I'll need to do some more searching in the forums. Needless to say, I'm excited with my prospective saber, but any help is welcomed. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Kham-Ryn Kurios on February 13, 2012, 07:51:56 PM Thanks! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Stephen Strange on February 27, 2012, 07:25:36 AM Well hello all...
My name is Erik and I thought that it was time to tell something about myself. Even though I still have to order my first Ultrasaber (curse you... dutch taxes!). I live in the Netherlands... I saw I wasn't the only dutch person here on the forums (honestly... we should make a meet & greet one day and have some saber fights on the beach next to my house). Growing up I remember seeing Star wars for the first time on tv. And I remember the first shot of a light saber as the coolest thing ever! I guess that image sticked for a looong time. I went and did martial arts... a few years of Judo. Followed by Wing-chun kung-fu. My teacher at that time started to give weapon classes and I just had to do those courses. Dragon pole & Broad (butterfly) swords where the first, as those where the Wing-Chun weapons. But after that we went on with Sai, Nunchaku and Ton-fa... and of-course the Katana. Boken fight where pretty heavy hehe. It is years ago but I still have the weapons in house. Over the years I stopped doing martial arts as I was a professional soldier and didn't had time to go to my old classes. When I turned civie again I found a new teacher and managed a few more years of training before I finally stopped due to long days at work etc. At this time I visited fantasy fairs a few times a year. And during those small instructions given there in mid-evil swordfighting I noticed I still remembered the old lessons. It is strange though applying them to a sword for which the techniques where not meant to be. One of those fairs I did end up buying a real forced sword though. Quality stuff too. I guess in my weapons I just fall for the real quality. That is probably also the reason I never bought one of the Lord of the Rings replica swords. Browsing the net my eye falls on the Master Replica swords... but at this time its 2012 and the stuff had passed me by for over 6 years. So I checked e-bay and found a shop selling some. That is when the saberbug bit me because it took a lot of effort not to order more then 3 whahahaha... The darth Vader, Darth Maul and Obi-Wan where cool. Very cool. But it sucked I couldn't really duel with them without having the chance of damaging a LED. And... I noticed that they where just too far filled with ornamental stuff to have a proper grip. Still happy with the swords as they looked I found myself checking reviews and idea's on sabers on teh net at work. And that is where I found Ultrasabers! I am in the market for 2 or 3 sabers... planning a Sith and a Jedi one at least. I need a sparring partner in my GF. Because I haven't yet managed to get my collegues and friends Saber crazy so far. Current idea's are (based on the tips on this forum and exstensive research during work)... - Dark War Glaive elongated with Dark Catalyst Pommel (Blazing Red (orange/yellow FOC), Sound board, mid-grade, round tip, quick disconnect) - Extra LED (Violet Amethyst (silver FOC), quick disconnect) - Guardian with Dark War Glaive Pommel (Guardian Blue (silver FOC), Sound board, mid-grade Ultra Edge, round tip) And I would love me a green blade too... choices, choices... It certainly would, especially with a midgrade blade. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Concept on March 04, 2012, 11:25:42 AM Gday guys, just a quick hello from a new Aussie member. Like so many I have been a SW fan for quite a while and have mainly fed my addiction with SW Lego lol. Always liked the idea of light sabers but local shops only ever carried the cheap plastic kind which did not entice me.Howards saber art on the wall in his bedroom (Big Bang Theory) got my thinking recently that there must be some kind of decent quality light sabers available. So I decided to do some searching. A couple of days later and I have two force FX sabers on order and have also just purchased an US Guardian with all the trimmings (the wife does not need to know this!).So I am eagerly looking forward to my new purchases arriving and learing a thing or two from everyone here at the forum.

Welcome! You get props for referencing Big Bang Theory (great show) as well as attempting to hide your purchases from your lady (I've attempted the same on occasion). I think you'll be very excited when those sabers come in. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Vex on March 05, 2012, 02:36:47 PM Gday guys, just a quick hello from a new Aussie member. Yes I have come to realise that whilst the Force FX is a good replica for adults you can't get too excited with them. Will see how the Guardian goes and maybe get a pair of duelling US’s if I get keen. I am sure the wife will want to hit me with something when she does find out lol. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: digitalsithlord on May 08, 2012, 12:07:11 PM Good Morning SaberForum.com,
I figured I would go ahead and make my first post on here to introduce myself. I just joined this forum and place my first order for a grab bag lightsaber just the other day. After seeing all the excitment others had with this I figured what the hay! I went totally random on this and I eagerly awaiting to see what I might receive in the mail. I went with the grab bag to give me the first glimpse at an UltraSaber lightsaber before going all in. I am currently torn between the Raven and War Glaive models, I love the claws on these models. I have a couple of MR lightsabers, but after seeing this website, the reviews from everyone, and the YouTube videos here I was SOLD. I had been eyeballing this site for the last week and decided it was time to take the plunge. I am getting ready to hit the big "40" on June 10th, BUT I still feel like a big kid at heart. I have loved Star Wars ever since I can remember, seeing my first film "Return of the Jedi". I live in North Carolina, ex-Navy (Shellback) and currently going back to school for a degree in Criminal Justice. I am married to a beautiful woman who shares my enthusiasm for any and everything Star Wars. She has accompanied me to many overnight showings of the Prequels :) Thats about it in a nutshell. I am excited to be apart of your community :) Oh! I WILL make a post as to what I got as soon as my saber arrives! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Veldryne on May 08, 2012, 12:55:35 PM welcome to the addiction mate! it grows pretty fast, and before you know it you are going to have multiple sabers and be looking for friends to drag out to the park to play with them at 2 in the morning!
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: JapzLapeno on May 23, 2012, 12:24:07 AM Greetings all. Decided to check in at the welcome desk (thread, whatever). Only discovered that there was a market for affordable custom sabers a few days ago. Just ordered my first saber (well my WIFE's first saber ::)) within the last hour. Really looking forward to handling one of these in person because i've been geeking out constantly over what i've only seen for the last couple days. It gets distracting when i'm trying to concentrate on cooking (i work in a restaurant). I'm looking forward to being here especially because from what i've seen so far, people here seem very level headed, which i usually don't see anywhere.
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: KrystheSith on May 23, 2012, 12:37:30 AM The Jedi are a level headed bunch, and the rest of us... well we just hide it better than most. ;) (Welcome to the addiction.)

Yeah, pretty much everyone on here is level-headed with very few, if any, exceptions (although we do have crazy people like me ;)). Flaming is moderated rather well and isn't normally seen anyways. Also, welcome to the addiction ;D Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Veldryne on May 23, 2012, 12:40:59 AM welcome to the addiction mate,
part of the reason everyone is so level headed.....half the mods are resident masters, and no one really wants to be on the recieving end of a lightsaber beating from them :-D seriously though, you will find these forums are a great place to hang out, everyone helps each other out, and there is a lot of constructive critiquing of form and costumes so, by way of official geek welcome May the force be with you...(just not the dark side, their cookies are poison) Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Luna on May 23, 2012, 12:46:01 AM (just not the dark side, their cookies are poison) What? I thought only the cake was a lie! But yes, be wary of the Dark Siders like KrystheSith (all in good fun) ;) Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: KrystheSith on May 23, 2012, 12:51:51 AM Don't listen, they're just jealous that I'm the funnest one around. And my cookies are NOT poisonous. :P
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Solinus on May 23, 2012, 01:01:53 AM Welcome to the madness!!
I can attest to what everyone else here has said. The cookies ARE poison (they're made by ewoks), the jedi are so level headed that it drives me bat crazy, and Krys IS the funnest person around. On a serious note, please don't be afraid to jump into threads that you see. I came in a total noob (I think I still am, honestly) and I have never felt so at ease and comfortable. I even met someone from here and did some saber training/dueling. Let me tell you... these things can take a beating!! Anyways, welcome. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Luna on May 23, 2012, 01:12:58 AM Don't listen, they're just jealous that I'm the funnest one around. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: JapzLapeno on May 23, 2012, 01:57:58 AM I already feel very welcome and i believe i read Solinus' story of his training session before i registered. To be clear, by 'level headed' i only meant 'not bodily waste dispensers.' I wasn't projecting sanity upon you. Sanity is boring (and subjective), and really if any of us were what most people consider sane i doubt we'd be here to begin with. Mmmm, poison sith cookies. I should offer them to the coworker of mine who brought in parking lot oreos (literally oreos found in a parking lot, claimed they were from home) and didn't tell anyone until AFTER we had eaten them. >:( I shall encourage my wife to get on here at some point. Just thought I would drop a quick note in here as a short intro. My name is Guy (yes for real) but I tend to go by Fuzz, or Rabid on line and to most of my close friends. I have worked in the video game industry for the last 10 years "breaking stuff and getting paid for it" as a buddy of mine so eloquently puts it. I work in San Francisco for an amazing mobile games developer/publisher. I have just recently ordered my first saber from US. I used to have a Force FX Mace Windu before it was stolen a few years ago. I am now currently awaiting a brand new Raven with SS claws and SS pommel. The blade is mid grade (I don't foresee any real dueling in my immediate future) and will be Consular Green. I waffled for a bit but finally decided to go ahead and splurge on myself so it will have Obsidian Sound as well as a Green Illuminated AV switch. Question: Any of you saber addicts live in the San Francisco Bay Area? If so let me know! -RF Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: KrystheSith on May 25, 2012, 08:03:54 PM WELCOME! I love fresh meat! The raven is an EXCELLENT saber, you're going to love it! And there are quite a few of the people on the forums from Cali, I'm not sure where all of them are though. There's a link for dueling partners searching. (I think in Way of the Saber forum) And even if you duel with the mid grade, you won't have problems. :) They're all for dueling.

I haven't been called fresh anything in quite a few years. ;) Thanks for the kind welcome! Oh and I don't care if the cookies are poisoned. I have spent years developing an immunity to most Sith poisons. ;) Yeah I REALLY can't wait for my Raven to get here. Sooooooooooooooo stoked! It just called to me when I was trying to decide. I think the second saber purchase might end up being a bit harder to choose though. Not necessarily looking to duel so much as just meet and hang out with some new awesome folks with similar interests. (Damn now this sounds like a dating profile.) -RF Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: KrystheSith on May 25, 2012, 08:31:38 PM I just meant you might see someone close to where you're from there.... and the cookies are a trap.
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: RabidFuzzle on May 25, 2012, 08:32:58 PM But what if my falling into the trap is itself, also a trap?
Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Veldryne on May 25, 2012, 08:37:20 PM if the trap involves cookies, bring milk?
and anytime you meet up for sparring with sabers, bring lots of water, depending on the group you hang out with, it ends up being an incredible workout so worth it though Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: RabidFuzzle on May 25, 2012, 11:11:12 PM I prefer my cookies dry.
Spent 6 years in the U.S. Army. Hydration was practically beaten into me and is still second nature even 14 years after getting out. :) -RF Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Solinus on May 25, 2012, 11:51:41 PM I'm in SoCal, and there are a few others here as well. Welcome to the forums. Next time on your saber purchase, go PURPLE or go home! Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Veldryne on May 25, 2012, 11:52:40 PM ugh solinus why would you say that, now im debading a va or dva lightsaber...guess im putting off that AS blade for a while longer yet......

Cool to know that they HQ here. Thank you for your gracious and kind welcome! Next saber will be Fire Orange or some variant thereof. I am am sure by the time I am done I will have at least one of ever color. :D -RF Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: Solinus on May 26, 2012, 06:02:40 AM Yup! My company has offices up in the San Jose area. If I ever get a chance to go up there for work, I'd love to drop in on them and say SURPRISE!
Pyrestone Orange I think is going to be my next saber color, but I want it with quick disconnects. Looking at getting an Archon or Arbiter next, unless the Dark Shock comes back. But the regular Shock is starting to grow on me too. Title: Re: Welcome to SaberForum.com Post by: BenPass on May 26, 2012, 01:34:09 PM Yup! My company has offices up in the San Jose area. Word of advice: Since you found the Overlord a little long, don't go with the Arbiter. I'm 6'6 and my hands are on the bigger/normal side (wearing a 13 ring) and when the upper part of the hilt is gripped, the pommel sometimes strikes my forearm. It's a great two-hander, and I can pull it off with one, but it might be too big for you. The QDs are awesome though and I'd highly recommend them. Guardian with blue blade and red av switch with obsidian sound! Oh yeah! I figured I may be a bit protective of it, so I also ordered an initiate v2 le to practise combat with! Just a basic one, no sound etc. Good times ahead I hope!
