Title: Display stands and such. . . Post by: faheyb on February 14, 2012, 05:26:10 AM Does anyone know of a place that may sell display stands for sabers? Or maybe mounting brackets for walls and such? I want to be able to store and display my sabers safely and securely. Thanks in advance for any help.
Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Jenny on February 14, 2012, 05:51:49 AM Do a web search for "Sword wall rack." The mounting hardware will work perfectly for your sabres.
Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: JangoUnfettered on February 17, 2012, 04:05:20 PM You can use pool que wall racks. They hold 8 sabers and usually have felt lining the base and the pass thru for the blade
Stay away from the ones with clips for the top as they break and can mar the blade. Usually they are available in a variety of wood finishes. You can mount the movie posters behind them. I purchased them on ebay. Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Vex on February 17, 2012, 05:41:44 PM You can use pool que wall racks. I have sword racks similar to these, and I think they might work better than a cue rack. Cue racks have relatively narrow bases, so the beefier pommels might crowd others or sit improperly. I also like the simple saber holders that have a black base and blade clip that screw into the wall. How many sabers are you looking to display? Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: JangoUnfettered on February 17, 2012, 06:22:01 PM The horizontal ones will sometimes curve a blade over time, that why I use the vertical ones.

Best way to go. Like a pool cue setup with different clamps to hold the blade. Courtesy of Cronfios. Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Vrakul on March 11, 2012, 08:39:26 PM My loving wife hit upon a solution at random while walking through Wal-Mart. In the mops/brooms section, she found an item called "Stay Organized" for mops and brooms. It's a plastic wall mount with 5-slots, each with a rubber-backed wheel and a rubber stopper opposite it, that fits the blades perfectly. Unless you are okay with the white plastic look, it is easily disassembled, painted and reassembled. I couldn't find it on the internet, but I'm sure you'd be able to find something like it at your local Wally World, Home Cheapo, etc. Just look for a mop/broom organizer. And pardon my cruddy paint job - I picked up another one today ($7.87), and this one will be better. I thought about picking up a third, but I currently only own 8 sabers and the thought of all of those empty slots seemed...dangerous, lol. :D

Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Vrakul on March 11, 2012, 08:55:50 PM As long as the thing is well secured to the wall, gravity keeps the sabers hanging in there nice and tight - I don't think they're going anywhere. The rubber on the wheel and stopper grips the poly blades perfectly, and lifting the saber a bit is all it takes to release it. It's like the thing was designed just for us! ;D
Osmathae kindly found the product on the Wal-Mart web site, but it looks like you can't order it online. There's an option to check store availability though: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Stay-Organized-Organizer-1ct/15723894 (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Stay-Organized-Organizer-1ct/15723894) Thanks Osmathae! Next time you see him post, give him a point just because ;) Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: ThreadJack on March 11, 2012, 09:06:52 PM My local Wally World has those. I may have to get some, instead of just leaning my sabers against the wall....
Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: ed_ification on March 11, 2012, 09:37:07 PM I just mean if someone brushes against the sabers or knocks them or something... I tend to be very cautious about such things.
Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Shami Pemas on March 11, 2012, 10:07:07 PM i think you underestimate the resilience of an Ultrasaber.
Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Vrakul on March 11, 2012, 10:13:45 PM ed, I think you've got a good point though. All it takes is the slightest lift to unsecure the saber from the unit, exactly as much pressure as you use to lift the saber, so a good bump could send them tumbling. I've got a border collie pup that attacks my lab and he can get pretty rambunctious. I installed the thing pretty high on the wall, and there's a low shelf beneath it so it shouldn't get knocked about. The Sith Apprentice can easily reach hers to take it down and put it away. Maybe the glass underneath them isn't such a good idea though, lol :o

Saint Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Saint on March 25, 2013, 05:51:54 PM Ok, things are getting pretty crowed in the saber corner. No room for a second wall rack. No shelf space. Doh! >:( Hmmm...I have a few Covertec clips in my tickle trunk. Now how do I rig them? ::) How about... Post by: jasonalexei on March 27, 2013, 11:50:17 PM Brilliant bit of cost effective creativeness! This thread inspired me, so I went and picked up a similar wall thingy by Unger for $15, in anticipation for the arrival of my first Ultrasabers next week. Now I just have to figure out how to paint it so it doesn't look like I've mounted a mop holder as a decoration in the den. I'll post a pic when I get it finished.
Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: Adak Cyrnoc on March 28, 2013, 02:02:37 AM I was thinking about this a while ago, and the first thought was
to look on ebay for saber stands. I mainly found the horizontal red neck gun style racks and the MR/Hasbro stands. I dont want a horizontal rack nor spend 20 minimum price for a single MR/Hasbro one. So I thought pool que racks. I loved the idea, to bad it was a bad one. Wasted 60 bucks on those things and they didnt work. Broom stick holder.... brilliant.. I'll have to pick one up. However I'm currently working on a stand to hold many sabers. I cant really decide on a few details with it. I hope to have it done by next week, thats when my new sabers show up. Title: Re: Display stands and such. . . Post by: bws on April 30, 2019, 11:10:48 PM I recently built my own display holders using 1" x 4" s, .5" x 1.5" 's, L brackets and 1 1/4 pipe galvanized pipe tube straps that I picked up at the hardware store. So far they hold great and have had no issues with the blades getting marred. My put some felt or rubber on the inside of the tubes if it becomes an issue. Will post pics once my newest saber comes in to fill the remaining spot. Relatively easy to put together and only takes about 5 minutes to do if you know the lengths and have the wood pre cut at the store.
