I have the UEHG on my BR Dark Liberator, and I dare say, you will not be one bit disappointed. It really does look great.

Here is Blazing Red with a Mid Grade blade in my Dominix V2 LE. I think Blazing Red looks best in the Mid Grades and or Heavy Grade blades but its what YOU want. What saber are you going for? Hope this helps you more. =]

Ahhh, the question we all ask before we purchase our first saber.... And now, I am the one answering!!! Soon, you will be to, my fellow Sith brother (you should consider joining the RP forums, and joining the Sith Wink )....

Well, here is my opinion..... And the first part of it, I am sure you have read way more than once... The second, is, a revelation of mine.....

So, here it is:

It all boils down to personal preference......... There, I said it...... Now that I got out what I'm sure you have read more than once, Ill expound on it, and show the difference in my answer.......

I purchased my first saber.... An ultra sabers Raven, in BR, with a standard mid grade blade...... The color is EXACTLY the same as what is shown on the Ultra sabers site.... Do not doubt that... That is a FACT, and I am sure, most would agree with me on that.... Do not think that the core is white, and it is a deep blood red around it.... Look at the picture on the site.... The blade is that same color throughout......

With that being said, I can get deep.....

I now wish that I purchased an UE blade.... I went with the standard mid grade because I feared that the UE would make the color go pink a little...... It is really silly to think that.... Ultra sabers probably would not sell the blade if it had that big of an effect on the saber.... The color, is the same as the standard midgrade...... if anything, (and I stress that), it only lightens the color a VERY VERY VERY little bit..... The color lightening is not noticeable without taking a very close look.... So, the color lightening is not what people are talking about..... They are talking about how the color is presented..... It gives a very slight, pastel color to it..... And again, if it were bad, Ultra S would not sell it.....
It lives up to its name, and brings the light to the edge of the blade in a very, ultra kind of way, lol...

So, here is the gold of all that...... It really isn't about the color (well, it is, but in a different way). It is about the feel you want with your saber...... The reason I now say that I wish I went with a UE blade earlier (I have one now), is because of the feel it produces.... For my Raven, it gives the right feel..... The light is brought to the edge of the blade, and gives a, bigger, badder, feel..... The Raven, is a BIG, BAD, saber.... So, the blade compliments the hilt.....
The standard mid grade, focuses more on color..... This is also a good thing..... The color is a little more vibrant than the UE...... But trust me, it is not a whole lot more...... Either way, you will be happy NO MATTER WHAT.....

Now, if I were to get a, smaller hilt, and wanted to have a, idk, speed over strength feel, I would go standard...... If I want a Big strength feel, I would go UE..... You get what I am saying? It is more about feel than anything. I doubt anyone hates one of the blades... They are both great....... It is all about personal preference....... What feel do you want in your saber? The descriptions I used are just mine, you can create your own..... If you want, I can help you determine the feel you want......

So, it is about color, but more importantly, feel...... To say that one blade is better than the other is false........ It is up to you.... If you want the purity of the LED, go with the standard.... If you want a fuller looking blade, go UE...... The choice is yours...... Just don't go blue or green, yellow or orange, ect...... stick with whats best...... Sith red.....  Wink

I would also like to say, the mid grades are great for dueling (on other sabers, and on the body of your opponent..).... I am a full on heavy dueler.... I hit hard.... like I'm trying to break my blade kinda hard....... It just does not.... they are also flexible (not noticeably to the eye), so they are safer than the Heavy grade.... On top of that, they are brighter than the heavy grade blades....... I would go mid grade..... But do what you feel best......

Okay, I feel, after all of that....... I need a point....... It will make my tired fingers feel better......  Grin

Glad to help Wink

Gotta go with Yega on this one - everybody has their preferences on this issue, so u really can't classify one as "the best."  I personally like regular midgrade, as it is well balanced and very bright.  It also manipulates the blade color less, so you get more of an unchanged representation of "Blazing Red."  The advantage of Ultraedge is that the color goes to the very edge of the blade, eliminating the "light in a tube" effect.  Finally, let me point out that as Yega said, the midgrade (Ultraedge or regular) is actually very durable, despite what many people think.  I have beaten mine to death and have yet to break a blade.

Ah! That has cleared up everything very nicely for me, thankyou! I'm liking the sound of the UE because I want my blade to feel both real and badass (I am a sith after all Wink ) and if MG is slightly brighter yet still durable, i shall get that. The reason i have gone for The Aeon for my SITH weapon is because I want to put some black electrical tape round the button and emitter area, so it looks evil, but classy evil Smiley Thanks all again for your help.. may the (dark side of the) force be with you Tongue
