So my gloves arrived.

The fit on my fingers and through the hand is going to be just perfect, I can tell. Which means my main concern has been taken care of very nicely and I got my measurements right based on the size chart.

The one area where I may have to make an adjustment--and I am already brainstorming a way or two how I can do it--is the wrist area. The gloves are unisex, and while my
hands are larger than the average woman's, my
wrist is slenderer and I've got some excess material to contend with. This isn't really a surprise to me, because I usually just barely fit into ladies' large gloves, yet it's rare to be able to wear a watch without having several links taken out. (Even fits my US experience: I needed my crossguard blades slimmed down to keep my saber from looking insanely huge compared to my overall figure, yet I have a very comfortable grip on the Flamberge hilt with room to spare and have even seen some men say that hilt's diameter is large.)
I'll try the gloves on with my undertunic tomorrow to see whether my sleeves hold the gloves in place to a point where the excess material isn't noticeable.
Should there be an issue, I've got an idea of how to make closures at the wrists with a little bit of the Velcro I had from bringing my neck seal (well, now it turns out the correct term is "gorget," according to ANOVOS) down to Renlet size. I'll have to be sure of what I'm doing because once that Velcro goes onto leather/pleather, it does NOT budge one bit, but I am thinking that if I have to, I can hide the closures where my sleeve will hit, below my palm.
I know that sounds like a complaint, but overall I AM satisfied that I got what I ordered: the stitching pattern looks right, and there's no problem with the fingers being too short or the gloves being too small for me. Too much material in the wrist area is a far easier issue to contend with than too little material, so if need be, I'll get creative. The practical reality is that a little Renlet cannot expect anything short of something completely custom-measured for herself (like my robes) to have an exact fit; anything with stock sizes is subject to adjustments, and I'm willing to figure it out.

I'll make an assessment tomorrow night and since my next con appearance is not until November, I've got a little time to make sure I'm comfortable with my chosen course of action before I go forward.
