So a while back I made my set of unstable blades using Christmas lights and a broken mid grade blade.
This was the finished result

Overall I was very satisfied with the result.
But I've been working a lot on choreography with the people I've been teaching to spin. So I needed something more durable. So with my modified black series saber I chose to use heavy grade blades this time.

They're different, but certainly more sturdy and heavy. This hilts easily heavier than some of my staff setups. I won't be doing much more than some basic spinning with it. Think a heavy blade with an entire roll of hot glue and a whole can of spray paint on it. I used a stained glass trans red if anyone's curious.
It honestly feels about like swinging around my metal Long Claw from my Jon Snow cosplay. I have to say I like the look of this one better turned off because the shimmer of the lining shines through really well when it's off. I'd say if you've got some hot glue and a spare blade give it a shot. It's pretty easy to put together and some people selling these things are asking crazy prices.
As for the side blades, they're modified stock blades for now. I kind of like them but I'll see what I can do with some Christmas lights after they're on sale in January.
