Dark Side Points please

« on: February 05, 2013, 06:21:06 PM »

This is my first ultrasabers lightsaber.
I ordered this in december and it came exactly one month later (bacause of customs, winter holidays and snowy days).
The saber looks amazing and I am spinning it everyday. (I actually smashed the overhead lights while doing it Tongue)

I had several problems though. The battery pack and the MLS unit are in the hilt so tightly that they are almost impossible to get out  Sad.
The MLS unit is easier to get out so I usually take that out first and then push the battery pack from the other side.
I would greatly appreaciate it if anyone has an idea in solving this problem.

Sorry about the bad sound and video quality in this review. (my camera is not working very well)

Great choice in saber. That's the exact set up I got for my first also in BR.  My batteries and speaker comes out easy for me but my MLS is stuck in there very tight as well. I haven't worried too much about taking mine out tho since I did not get quick disconnects on it.  I always figured I'd use a wooden dowel and push it out from the other side but you I guess need to get one side out first for that.

I was actually waiting for your reply since I knew that you had exactly the same saber and I was wondering if you had the same problem as I do. It seems like yours is ok so its not a common problem. I might have to ask ultrasabers...

It wasn't super hard but getting the batteries out the first time was the hardest. Have you tried putting a towel over a solid surface and hitting the bottom end on it? That sudden stop with enough force should cause the batteries to drop. Just gradually hit harder and harder. I'm sure they'd come out before your able to break anything. Unscrew the pommel first Smiley. J/K.  I've heard of others using a lubricant too to get theirs out.

I have used that technique before but I never managed to get it working.
