I am hoping to get my first saber sometime between now and the beginning of June. I was wondering what saber I should get? I want to get something that durable, looks nice, and has a type of uniqueness towards it (I know I'm picky xD).

I have around $100 to spend, so any suggetions would be helpful Cheesy (please dont bring up te recenly ended Bane sale I don't wanna think about it T^T)

Do you have any idea what form you prefer? It does make a small difference, unless it's shien, then it makes a BIG difference.

I'd go with a Liberator.

i would also suggest the liberator. i have fairly large hands (ring size 13) and the narrowing of the hilt in the middle has a nice feel to it.

Hm. Just because this will be your first saber, I would say get something a little more solid. The Liberator is cool, though personally I never really favored it, but the choke in the middle of the saber may throw you off. It may not, I do not know how you duel or where you have your hands positioned on the saber, but I would say maybe try something like a Aeon/Dominix or a Standard Issue. Both are pretty simple in design and allow a great deal of customization. The SI is light and has a good grip on it, the way they machine the hilt gives it a good feel. The Aeon/Dominix has grooves for better grip as well, but I have to say my fave feature of it is the emitter. It sticks out a little wider than the hilt itself (the middle of the hilt does this as well where the activation button is) and it really does assist when you are dueling. Your dominant hand will have a better chance staying under the emitter, which helps for control. Again, not sure on your style and your preferance, but just putting this out there to give you a little more insight on the hilts.

hmmmmm I actually really like that idea! I really wanted to get a War Glaive, but if I do Im waiting til summer so i can get a job and make the cash for it (soundboard included which is why Im waiting) and i checked out the Aeon/Dominix and really liked them. Im thinking though about getting the Initiate only because on my MHS/sinktube saber my friend made me back in October, the hilt length isnt very much more than the initiate and I could just get regular blades. If anyone has any info on The Initiates, please let me know your opinion. Also, keep sending the suggestions! I'm really liking them! Grin

i would get the redemption since it is very solid has some heft to it and has room to install a high end sound board i have an oppressor which is just a dark version of the redemption and i love it  http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=1127.0

The initiate syled sabers are pretty effective in their own ways. I like using a short saber myself every once in a while when it is needed. The one reason I liked the regular one over the shorter one was mainly because I use my Aeon as a staff, so I use the Phantom version of it (think that is the name, either that or Phantasm, sorry, I should know my sabers). The longer hilt gives you a larger area of the saber to use in the middle of it. The regular hilt is around 12 in, and the initiate I believe is about 8.75. Thats 24 in versus 17.5 in. Thats kind of a significant margin considering the area of the saber that is mostly flat in the middle of the staff. That is another reason the Standard Isssue is pretty effective. Nothing much in the way and you pretty much have the whole saber to play with. Then again, this is just me. I think it is pretty good to consider what you might want your saber to be in the future as well. Like I have certain sabers I strictly use for single bladed combat and others just for a staff.

interesting. i figured that unless someone here can suggest to me something better, im going to get the Dominix V2 Limited Edition. Everyones said that the Dominix/Aeon are very sturdy and overall awesome, but I wanted mine just to have a little more extra on it so it would stick out. Now I just need to decide which color would go well with it XD

Well I am glad you pretty much came to a choice. Hah, not sure if anyone can help you with that one, though. Very personal choice that one is.

i have a dominix V2 in blazing red with the heavy grade blade and its a hefty saber . that will be a good choice if you plan to do some serious battling. plus the red looks good with the black hilt, IMO.

the dominx le is a nice saber but if in the future you decide you want sound which most eventually do you will be out of luck since the dominx doesn't have enough room for sound maybe an economy board but thats about it that why i encourage getting the redemption since it only $100 and can be upgraded to sound later on if you desire
