I recently got a Dark Shock and am loving it, but, I also want a second, lightweight saber of similar length for my off-hand in case I feel like dual weilding. Does anyone know a saber that is about 11" long, and not a Shock model?

Congrats on the saber!! I love my Dark Shock too!! I'm not real familiar with the lengths on the different hilts, but I'd say a great off-hand saber would be an Initiate with a 32" blade.  Cool

You could always get a grab bag saber. The majority of them I believe are PVC sabers, so they're naturally lightweight. Otherwise, I orders my Dark Standard Issues Saberstaff a few days ago, I'll share that it's like when it arrives.

Hey I just got a dark standard issue staff a few days ago and the single hilt is around 11 inches and would match well with the shock in my opinion....its a great saber

A Prophecy is 10" long, and would make a great off-hand weapon IMO.

Anyone - I read in a thread somewhere within that it is possible to shorten a blade.  Is it easy, and how is it accomplished?  Thanks....

With a vice and a saw. Just make sure you measure it out(remember measure twice cut once), secure it in the vice, and saw it off. I'd recommend a power saw. I think a hand saw might take a while...

Well you could just get the initiate blade? be easier for the off-hand wielding? With the Dark Initiate V2? I mean it seems like it would be the better for an off hand. just me though. Smiley

I just used a small pipe cutter from home depot or lowes to cut the blades down to size if they are to long or damaged Cheesy it doesn't mess up the film inside that way. They should cost about 5 dollars.

Oh, and don't forget to re-glue the film.

Thank you all for your answers.  I think I'll try the pipe-cutter method first.  I'm kind of like Tim Allen on Home Improvement with power tools in my hands. Smiley Smiley

Forgot to ask, any recommendations on glue/epoxy to put the tip back on??

I would just use Elmer's Glue All or Hot Glue.

Gorilla Glue works as well.  Although be extra careful about how much and what kind you use.  I accidentally used a tad too much glue, and it dripped into the blade a bit.  No biggie, right? it dries clear.  Well, the next morning I realized I had used the wood glue variety (it was dark.  I couldn't see the label that well.) So... now I have this interesting flame-like pattern at the tip of my blade.

Well..all great Hairy one... that could be kinda cool right? Or does it stand out and makes you want to unleash your Wookiee wrath on it?
