I was just wondering, for adding the claw, did you have to add a hole for the pin or was it already drilled ?

I had to add a hole for the pin. After doing it once, I would recommend making a paper template of the bottom of the claw to lay out your holes with. You can't really see where your hole needs to be from either side without doing something like that and I almost had an extra hole in my hilt!  |

I agree! For dual wielding I really like the short, stubby tail on the prophecies - it stays out of the way for spins and stuff. But for looks, that would be sweet. I've thought about the SS Raven pommel too! |

Wich tool do you use for the drilling ? How does it go through the aluminum ?
I'm kinda "scared" to do such an operation without being fully prepared... I mean, it's a hole in a metal tube... I don't want to rip my poor saber in his first days in my hands. His Machine Spirit would never forgive me !
By the way, the much I know, the less I will screw this up...

I just marked it all out very carefully, used a center punch to make a dimple where I wanted my hole (so the drill wouldn't slip - this is easy since aluminum is so soft) wrapped the hilt in a towel then put it in a vice, then drilled it by hand (cordless drill, I don't have access to a press).
Also, make sure to drill holes a little too small - it's much easier to go a little bigger than to wish it was smaller. Just take your time and make sure your layout is good and you should be all set!

I just ordered a prophecy and this is AWESOME! Great innovation - I may give it a shot. Did you have to make any serious alterations to the hilt or claws to get them to attach well? (I wasn't really sure from the original post)

Those claws are simply... amazing. I might want to do the same for the Prophecy I just ordered! That pyrestone color is gorgeous also. Would you say it's pretty similar to the "Heart of the Guardian" color from KOTOR?

That is so incredable. My boyfriend says I need to make my saber look more like mine, maybe more like my Sith character consept because she needs something more fierce. I am not saying I will steal this idea but, it definatly has the feel. I could feel it right away. Incredable job.
