So I'm so-so with my wiring and soldering but I have this idea to get a Han Solo type blaster gut the thing, try to somehow straighten the grip, an replace the inereds with a US Grab-Bags guts. my idea is I would like to wire on some kinda deadman switch in to the trigger or maybe drill out ahole in the grip it self an put a button behind the trigger to activate the LED.

If anyone has attempted this before I would sure like some pointer or ideas on how to make this build go alil more smoothly for me.

I would try to put the saber button where the safety switch on an actual gun would be, so it would be easy access or the blaster fire, and the saber activator. Hope this helps. MTFBWY

ok so I decided to go with out sound because I'm not that technical. I'm using an old Han laser tag blaster I found. I'm going to try to gut or empty out the insides an try to replace it with some good old fashion US parts. to straighten out the handle to a 145-160 degrees ill see what looks best. I'm worried that the plastic won't be strong enough. has anyone ever had to reinforce plastic? Can I just put a layer of JB Weld on the inside as a reinforcement ??

From what I remember, that laser tag blaster was pretty tough. (I had a set as a kid) I could be wrong though. I suppose it all depends on how rough you plan to get with the thing. If you're going to duel with it.... I'd say build a chassis / frame out of your own solid material to go inside the plastic blaster and hold all the saber guts. That will keep the shock of the hits absorbed into the stronger material, and keep stress of the guns weak points. If you're just using it for a show prop and not fighting with it, then assuming the plastic is of decent thickness you might not need to reinforce it much, if at all, except where you change the angle of the handle.

id like to use it to duel but idk if plastic would hold up to that an I don't have the tools or the resources to do a full on metal go to lowes an get erry thing I need build. so unfortunately this has to be a display piece or as i like to call them weak toys. but this should give me good practice for a battle ready one.

ie iv broken many batterie holders in my US  I'm I going to hard or is there a way to stop this??
