Thanks, both of you, for the kind words.  And Rel for the tips.  Though I don't really have any ambition to get into true costume design, I'll keep it all in mind if I ever get inspired again.

Also in reply to Rel's post about pillow fights, I think this picture is appropriate:

I like the second design in the OP- it looks like it would work better. As for using it for Jedi garb, I think some races from the SW universe would be better suited for it than others.
Races like the Twi'lek and the Zeltrons tend to play up their sexuality, so would be more likely to wear a costume like this than some of the more conservative species.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zeltron

You could also have a backstory for it- a Jedi working undercover as a dancer, entertainer, club girl, or something similar, all the better to get close to some underworld figure who needs to be brought to justice.

When it comes to sexy characters, I don't have a problem with character designs that were intended to be sexy in the first place, like Slave Leia. Neither do I have a problem with original characters and designs that are meant to be sexy. It only really irritates me when people take costumes that were not designed that way and sexualize them, even when it's contrary to the personality and function of the character. For example, a female Boba Fett I saw somewhere, which was various bits of armor worn over torn fishnets and lingerie, with the person in it striking sex-kitten type poses. Or when female versions of male characters default to "make it skimpy"- Male character has a full coverage costume with armor plates- female version  is completely bare except for low rise pants and metal breast cups. Surely there's ways to make the original costume flattering to the female form, without defaulting to "nearly naked".

I lol'd.

It seems like the second design is the more popular of the two.  Interesting to me since I'd assumed the first would be more popular since it's basically a modified vest.

In any case, I do appreciate all the comments!

In my opinion, Cassandra Cain had the right idea... (ignore the text, I just needed a good picture)

Now that is hot.

That is hot, but now I need to know who she's talking to and what they're wearing!  Cheesy

Haha, indeed. I have no clue, actually. It has been a very long time since I last read any of her comics. Speaking of which, I really need to start collecting those again... Cassandra Cain is my all time favorite superheroine.

Reverse image search came up with nothing useful. Can anyone identify what she's holding? If they aren't her weapons, perhaps that could be an indication of who she's addressing.

Sorry for continuing the off topic discussion, but I love figuring this things out....

YES! I finally figured it out! The person that Cassandra Cain is chastising is Helena Bertinelli, AKA, Huntress (another favorite of mine, actually). Those are her crossbow bolts that Cassandra is holding.

Phew. My Google-fu still hasn't failed me.

In the Metal Gear Solid series it's subverted.

Other than a handful of female characters in MGS4 nearly all of the main male characters throughout the series wear skin-tight BDSM sneaking suits along with all the doodads and bondage straps strewn about while the women wear normal civilian / military fatigues.

Then again, it is Hideo Kojima, who has included bisexual vampires, ghosts, fire demons, and a plethora of other oddities such as, but not limited to, a smoking monkey and machines that roar for no apparent reason.
