For me I was looking in to building a real lightsaber.  After discovering it is not yet possible, I settled on LED.  I Google lightsaber colors and there was a picture of eight colors.  I clicked on it and it took me to the US home page.  I looked around a bit and the obsession began.  So what about you guys?  How did you find Ultrasabers?

I think I happened across US several years ago when they were still working in PVC. I was more impressed with a certain other builder at the time, but I actually ended up buying several Master Replica and other hilt-only designs.

I came back to Ultrasabers around Christmas time when one of their ads popped up while I was browsing one day. I don't know quite where it pulled up my SW interest from, but it did, and now here I am.

Mine was a rather simple experience. I was browsing Deviantart, where I put some of my work, and I randomly came across an ad. Usually I don't click on Ads, but it was about lightsabers so I couldn't resist. And I'm rather glad I did.

I wanted to buy a lightsaber that was more durable than the old telescoping plastic ones, and after doing a bit of googling, I came across US. I saw that there was a forum and thought, "Screw that, I don't want to start up with some forum." Yeah, that worked out well Wink Anyway, I thought US looked good, so I thought I'd try one of their sabers. I bought the Libby V3, and was so impressed that I actually sought out the forum so I could talk about how great US was! And I've been here ever since.

I, like many other people here, was looking into getting a lightsaber.  My particular desire was to have one for cosplay/demonstration purposes.
I perused the sites of a couple other sabersmiths, mostly those that utilized series LED blades.  I found the hilts very pretty to look at, but whenever I watched their videos, the blades would visibly bend and contort with each swing.  I really didn't want that, because to me, it just looked cheap, no matter how high-quality the hilt looked.

Google eventually took notice of my browsing habits, as it usually does, and I started seeing ads for sabersmiths.  I saw an ad for Ultrasabers, and clicked it.  The first thing I saw was the inline videos of the Reaper and Manticore reveals.  I was instantly curious, so I poked around on the forums and looked specifically for demonstration videos.

That was when I came across a bunch of Eerock's videos -- one of his earlier orbit demos in his garage, his font reviews, and the video of his son hanging off the blade of his saber.  After seeing that video, I knew I had found the right place for what I wanted.

US "s awesome and over powering add engine ... I think I google searched how to make a lightsaber once and then it pretty much infected my gmail ... Myfitnesspal and anything google related ... Then I watched dozens of videos etc ... So I pitched the idea of going with a SW theme for our swordplay demo group and here we are working out choreography

My first interest in light sabers is when I watched Star Wars Movies. Then I got some of the Hasbro removable blade sabers and they are great as a novelty collectibles. But I craved for the better and stunt/dueling grade saber as I search online for better lightsabers and I came across US. All the reviews on Youtube on US and forums lead to me to order my first US and its being shipped I can't wait! Too excited!  Grin

The first time I found Ultrasabers I was maybe 7 when they still did the commercial and was hooked. Almost bought one but had no money. Forgot about it and then found it again last year and instantly remembered it. I regret not getting some of the pvc a copper ones then

I was looking to buy myself a lightsaber.  I already had a Master Replicas Luke Ep4.  As I was looking at the other MR/Hasbro ones, and decided I wanted a double bladed saber. I then thought to myself "I wonder if anyone has taken to making custom sabers".  So I did a Google search, bounced around a few forums, found a few sites that did.  US seemed to have the best price for what you get ratio, so I took a chance and bought my first Ultrasaber, the Phantasm v3.  And now I own too many, yet not enough, Ultrasabers.

I was building a prop for a client and needed a high powered LED for an internal effect...while looking for high powered LEDs I found several references to Ultra Sabers...one thing led to another and here I am.

It is like Hotel California...you can check out anytime but you can never leave.

I remember the good old days... Watching Episodes 4-6 and dueling my brother with the telescoping plastic toy sabers. That was fun...but now I'm older.
I wanted a quality saber made of metal, with a removable blade. I started looking at Hasbro's Force-FX sabers, but was disappointed in their blades. Although appearing to be great display pieces; they can't be used in combat.
So I was about to accept defeat, and give up on my dream to have a dueling saber when... I found US!!!

Anyways... I found it by chance. I found a video of two people dueling. I cannot remember which video, so don't ask. They mentioned in the description that they used ultrasabers. I immediately watched ever video I could find on YouTube. I literally spent hours staring at my computer screen. I Google-searched it and bought my Bellicose the very same night.

Well, through a round about way I was searching how to make a wizard staff for a battlemage cosplay I was putting together for Bristol ren faire this year, and BOOM while watching a YouTube video on a lit up staff the guy mentioned US as where he got his parts. I googled as many of you did, and found US. I've been on the site and forum daily since. It is like a child hood dream being fulfilled! I received my first saber about a week ago ( Libby V3 in VA) I've used it so much I needed new batteries after a few days! Coolest sabers and best company ever! If there is a cure for this addiction I don't want to know it!

I'm not really sure actually. I guess I must've googled "lightsabers" and US wasn't the first sabersmithy that I found (I can't really say WHO I found first, can I?) But around the same time I found the forum, and connected US to its forum and, as Jar Jar Binks might say, "Meeza here! Okey day?" lol

I used to do all sorts of costuming events, Star Trek, Steam Punk, Ren Fairs, etc.  Then I got married and ended up with three kids, so all the hobbies sorta went to the back burner and most of the costumes ended up getting sold to people that were still into it.  Of course my wife and I try hitting all the sci-fi conventions that get within 100 miles of us, but the budget hasn't allowed for costuming much any more aside from good geeky shirts.  Now the kids are older and more self-sufficient, the budget is starting to turn around.  I decided that some ren-fest garb I still have would work well for Star Wars cosplay, so the modifications began... I have friends in the Washington DC area 501st and asked them where most of their sabers came from and of course UltraSabers was their answer.  Amazingly, that same day I got that answer from them, I had a US ad pop up on my Facebook... the rest is history!

of course now I need to channel away from the clothing again and get another saber...
