Hey all,

Huge SW fan, big into RP (check out our SWTOR guild website at www.remnantsofhope.com), and I just recently discovered Ultrasabers! Been browsing here daily.
Questions if you'd be so kind to help me with:

1) I'm looking to buy a Saberstaff (Consular Green or Guardian Blue). I won't be doing much dueling, but will on occasion. I'm looking for a great igniting effect with igniting/spinning sound effects of course (not so much deflection sounds). Any suggestions on what I should go for?

2) I'd very much like to get 2 single blades with consular green that can interlock to form a saberstaff. I've seen Darth Maul singles - are there other models?

I hope to get many sabers now that I've found this place. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

1) Igniting sounds will all depend o what sound fonts you want to download, and by playing with all of them you can find one you like

2) The closest to a maul replica would be the manticore, which is a pretty sweet saber

Check out the Phantom V3 and Phantasm V3. The LE models look amazing, and they can be separated into 2 sabers.

The standard Shock with a Manticore emitter and red AV switch will be a serviceable Maul alternative too, but you'll have to pay the extra for the emitters.

With the sound fonts, you can mix and match from different fonts to create your ideal set of sounds. I have the standard Starkiller on my Bellicose, Yoda's on my Shock and I think I've got the Electrostaff font on my Manticore. It's surprising how different you can make things sound.

I didn't realize those two models separated into 2 sabers. That's great to know.

I'm still unsure as to whether I should get UEHG, UE, or MG

MG for spinning, UE for displaying and performing with spinning, UEHG for duelling

Because even thus there are "UE" letters in UEHG - it is still heavy, and this puts some strain in spinnig (from a point of a spinning owner of double Liberator staff with UEHG blades)

For Consular Green and Guardian Blue, I'd recommend standard mid grade or heavy grade blades, depending on how hard you're going to be hitting things.

I second this, especially if you're on a budget and looking to get sound or other higher priced options.  Anything in the "double bladed sabers" category is basically a saberstaff, and can be split into two separate hilts.

Welcome, and good luck with your purchase!
