I was disappointed with last night's episode.  It is great in some places and a disappointment in others.

I agree with you, but I personally thought Matt's performance was perfect. He was the Doctor more than he ever was... His farewell speech was heartbreaking, and I thought it was much better then David's "I don't wanna go!"

I loved Matt's performance, it was the script I had issues with.  I still prefer David's ending better, I liked the "I don't want to go line", it summed up just how much he loved being the Tenth Doctor. I didn't want him to go either.

Still haven't seen the Christmas special, but I'm with you on not wanting 10 to leave! Seriously, I don't cry at TV but I cried when he said that he didn't want to go.

I'm not saying the Tenth's "I don't wanna go!" Was bad, in fact, I cried when that happened to.
But for some reason... Matt's though...
"It all just disappears doesn't it? Everything you are, gone in a moment. Like breath, on a mirror. Any moment now, he's-a coming."
"Who's coming?"
"The Doctor."
"You, you are the Doctor."
"Yep... And I always will be! Times change. And so must I! Amelia!"
"Who's Amelia?"
"The first face this face saw... We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people, all through our lives. And that's ok that's good you gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be! I will not forget one line of this, I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me..."

I am new the the world of Doctor Who and time lords.  My first experience to it was at comic con in September. I didnt get it.  I met a guy at con and we talked about the series.  I couldnt get into the old series and he said start with the 9th doctor.  So upon his advice I did.  Watched season1 with the 9th doctor and when he regenerated and became the 10th doctor david tennant I was HOOKED.  Have not been able to stop watching since.  Whenever I have spare time which is not often and at night after my wife goes to bed I try to watch and episode or two before i go to bed.  Very seldom do i get hooked on a series this quickly and just want to watch every episode from start to finish.  The last two shows that hooked me like this were 24 and the Big Bang Theory.  Proud to stay that I LIKE Doctor Who.

Ahhhh more Whovians!! I'm a huge Who geek. Thought Christopher Eccleston was fantastic! He was angry...I liked it. And I have to admit though that DT was def the best out of the newer ones for me. Something about his compassion and light-heartedness all at the same time. Very excited to see how Peter Capaldi does.

Been catching up some Doctor Who classic lately... I had completely forgotten that the 1st series were only 30 minute episodes.  I guess as I was seeing them in reruns growing up they were running two of them back to back to fill an hour time slot.  It seems the hour long format didn't come about until the 3rd Doctor and the switch to color in 1970 or so.

I'm new to the show but 1000% a fan of Matt Smith - the 11th doctor - and Amy Pond

I've seen all of 9th doctor several of the 10th and two seasons of the 11th.  It's a great show just got into it in the last two months

Here’s the description from the BBC:
“Sporting a dark blue Crombie coat with red lining, dark blue trousers, a white shirt as well as black Dr. Marten shoes, the look was created by Doctor Who costume designer Howard Burden.”

It’s all rather plain and bland, isn’t it? According to Peter Capaldi, though, the Time Lord’s new look is supposed to be basic.

“He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.”
