the LiOn battery pack i received from ultrasabers had 2 trustfire TR14500 900mAH 3.7v batteries also came with the charger, now my question is would it be possible to use a higher voltage with the obsidian soundboard and led, or would it burn out both the led and board

If you look at the obsidian boards, I believe the soundboard can handle up to like 12v.  You would have to put a resistor on your led though to make up for the extra voltage.

I STRONGLY suggest not doing so. Just use the setup you were sent and you'll be fine.

I would heed Master Caine's warning unless you would like to fry your board to the point of non use  Wink
