I think it's pretty funny that in ROTJ, the Emperor was killed because Vader picked him up, moved over a few feet, and dropped him down a shaft. *Poof!* Emperor taken care of.  I mean, of course I understand what was going on in that scene, Sidious is busy trying to kill Luke and all that jazz, I just think it's funny. Why didn't the rebels just come in before and drop him down a shaft? It would have been a lot easier of Harry Potter just picked up Voldy and dropped him down a shaft too.

I understand and do find it a bit....strange that the end of the evil Emperor was a fall down a shaft. As to why the Rebels didn't come in and drop him down a shaft, they'd have had to get to him in the first place, through legions of Stormies, past Vader, and then get hold of a crazy, Force Lightning shooting Emperor. It would have been pretty close to impossible for anyone other than Luke to get that close.

falling down a hypermatter reactor shaft tends to have that effect, evil emperor or not.

Also, you have to factor in the Force Lightning that Vader had to wade through and take in order to even do that, which in the end, furthered his already fragile state and ended up dooming him. Basically, what you asked is like asking, "Why didn't somebody else punch the tank instead of the Hulk?"

Essentially, because they would have been run over!

I do find it somewhat humorous, now that you mention it though. As for Voldemort, well, he can fly so pushing him off a cliff doesn't really work.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong guys like I said I totally understand, Vader was picking up an electric storm Sidious, Luke was the only one that could get that close, it was epic for sure. Just also kind of humorous.
