My custom Jedi has been a long time in the design phase. Some of the ideas I had didnt originally fit with the CRL criteria of Rebel Legion or The Jedi Assembly. However, I believe that I now have something that will fit for both while still being true to my original concept.
In my research, I have looked at hundreds of pictures from the Republic Era (also known as Prequel) Jedi. These have come from the movies, the comics, the Role-Playing game sourcebooks, and the video games. I have designed my Jedi from those sources. Each decision has at least three pictures from named and generic characters which show precedence for why I have included them. I can post the reference pictures if necessary, as well as their sources.
The character draws heavily from both Naboo and Alderaani sources within the Star Wars universe, which gives him a slightly more ornate costume than most generic Jedi at large. However, this ornateness is still tempered with the traditional Jedi flare that is seen throughout the canon.
I have already begun gathering resources for my costume, but wanted to post this before I do any assembling to flesh out the details with the rest of you here.

The left side of the character shows the full look of the costume. The right side had some details omitted to better see the lower layers. Additionally, the right sleeve is omitted from the elbow down to show the forearm detail. Finally, the lowest picture shows the shadings and color palette I will be using for my costume. It is Concept Art for the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy video game.
Inner TunicThe inner tunic is a doublet style and is rust brown with a palomino gold 1 edging. It is long sleeved, but the sleeves end in cerulean blue wraps that cover the forearm and have a piece that covers the back of the hand.
TrousersThe trousers are rust brown and include a palomino gold 1 stripe down the outside of the leg as well as a reinforced saddle and knees.
Outer TunicThe outer tunic is chocolate brown and has a palomino gold 2 edge around the neckline above the waist seam and all the way around the bottom of the A-line skirt. There is a gusset under each sleeve.
Under TabardsThe under tabards are golden brown and made in a full back version that is slightly thinner than the shoulder of the outer tunic. There is a hood built into the tabard much like the Jedi Adventurer Robes from The Force Unleashed. The front and back extend the length of the outer tunic and the back part is slit up the center to the obi. The bottoms of the tabards are flat and there is a ½ palomino gold edging around the entire under tabard.
Over TabardsThe tabards are dark mahogany and are the same length in the front and rear. The bottom edges are tapered to a point at the center. The tabards will have evening blue piping along their edge.
ObiThe obi is cerulean blue and is approximately 6 wide. It is made to look wrapped, like the forearms of the inner tunic.
BeltThe wider belt is dark mahogany leather and 4 wide. The inner belt is evening blue blue leather and 1Ό wide. It is held in place by four brown 1 wide belt loops (two on the front and two on the back) with four button studs on either side of the belt loops. There is a pair of brown 1 leather loops on either side of the buckle. There is a larger 4 wide brown loop on the back.
There is a pair of pouches located on the left and right sides, set slightly back from the front. Each is 4 wide and dark mahogany in color. There is an evening blue 1Ό wide strap across the face with antique yellow stitching Ό from the edge.
The buckle will be brass in color, like the rest of the hardware, but I have yet to find one I like. There will be a set of six antique gold food pellets on either side of the buckle. Finally, there will be a brown 1 loop with a closed lightsaber hook on the left side.
BootsThe boots will be a simple brown pair of leather work boots. They will have the appropriate sole and coloring close enough to the brown I am using for the costume to generally match the gaiters.
GaitersThe gaiters will have a front, left, and right panel of dark mahogany leather. There will be an evening blue strip on the outside of the boots that will hide a zipper to close the boot. There will be a 4 dark mahogany strip across the top back of the leg and a 1Ό strap across the bottom. The remainder of the back of the gaiter is made to look like the cerulean blue wraps in a similar fashion to the forearm and obi. The front flap will extend down to cover the laces of the boot.
