I've wanted to do a custom blade plug for a while now, but wanted to push it to a new level, try something new, even if it wasn't impressive. I had no luck finding something really neat, until today!
I was at work, mixing paint, and I hit an idea. Why not that bit that screws into the faucet on the sink that keeps the water flowing uniformly? Later I found out from a coworker that its called a sink aerator, and while most of the ones we carry have this blue plastic insert in them that really didn't jibe with my mental image of what the buisness end of a saber looks like, I found one that had an adjustable insert:

Lowe's Item No. 387146, if anyone wants to find one.
The second part was actually a fan pull from electrical, because I felt I needed something to diffuse the light so that the blade plug functioned as well as the US stock.

Item No. is on the packaging.
I basically cut the insert in half, chopped the metal bit off the pull, sanded it until it was evenly frosted, ground the threads off the metal aerator collar then hammered the into a bit of blade that I had also ground a bit on the inside. I pushed the plastic bits into the plug, then used one of the O-rings that came with the aerator to hold that steady inside the polycarb tube.
The end result looks like this:

I turned the lights off, took a low exposure photo head on. Doesn't it remind you of an eye?

Thanks! It's always fun when I find something mundane that inspires me.
On a side note, I initally misread your signature as "Without coffee, victory is meaningless.".

I work at Lowe's I'm totally looking for these items tomorrow at work. But I'm not totally sure why you need the fan pull. Could you post a pic of the plug out of the saber? I'm very curious. It looks awesome in the saber!

He used the pull to act as something to further diffuse the light so he doesn't blind himself. I assume it's coiled up behind the sink aerator. However, about a quarter of an inch of hot glue would work as well.

From the top.

The "crystal" is sanded with fine grit sandpaper, so the light diffuses a bit, which dims the light to a safe level. I grabbed it because I wasn't sure if it would be too bright with the diffuser alone, defeating the function of the plug altogether. I tried it  semi-assembled without the "crystal", and the thing was still too bright  Honestly, it was an educated guess that paid off.

Good work we need to see some more custom plugs and it goes to show the simplest solution tends to be the best one. Mundane objects make the best insperation for art.

Nice. I know what I can get for my Overlord then. =] This gives me ideas. Would this basically be in the sink section at Lowes?

What a wonderful idea!!! Love it, point to you! Ive been wanting to make some mods to my saber for months and this I like. You know this is actually what reminds me of when i look at this. The picture of your saber with the plug looks exactly like one of the eyes from the movies Transformers by Michael Bay. Or another is the arc reactor in Iron Man??? lol. Great job dude.

My buddy immediately made the Arc Reactor comparison when he saw it.
