As you can see above, fans who supported the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series through 5 seasons are going to get some closure after all, before the animated side of the Star Wars universe is re-tooled and re-launched under the Disney banner with the upcoming Rebels animated series.

Netflix will be airing the entirety of Clone Wars Season 6  on March 7, 2014 – along with season 1 -5 show. Needless to say, if you’ve never gotten on the Clone Wars bandwagon, this might be the prime opportunity.

Clone Wars is a 3D CGI animated series relaunched in 2008, based on a series concept first explored in 2003 under the supervision of animation guru Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack). The core concept is pretty straightforward: exploring in greater detail the events that occurred in the three-year interim between the rise of the Republic’s clone army (seen in Attack of the Clones) and the Sith-led coup that led to the formation of the Galactic Empire (seen in Revenge of the Sith). The series follows characters like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Yoda, Count Dooku, Ahsoka Tano and others, as they play out the cat-and-mouse game of war and politics that ends in the defeat of the Jedi and the universe being plunged into a period of darkness.

The Clone Wars season 6 has been named “The Lost Missions,” and as the gap between Episodes II & III finally comes to a close, it seems that fans are finally going to get the sweet backstory they’ve been waiting for. In this case, that means all the minute details about the character arcs and step-by-step progressions that led to the events we witnessed in Episode III.

For my part, the most intriguing thing in that trailer is the deeper look at Yoda; the Jedi master always seemed to sense the darkness that was amiss around him, but the prequels didn’t do much to show how a wise and crafty master like Yoda tried to expose and stop the disaster before it happened. Adding to some of the other contradictory issues the prequels raised about Yoda’s character (like the need for a “mind over matter” small fry to go ninja with a Lightsaber), one of the most prominent ones (in my opinion) was the way that Episode III depicts Yoda as  being completely blind-sided by the Sith coup and his sadness at that failure. I never really “bought” that; I’ll be happy to see this story of Yoda’s more dedicated attempts at adverting disaster.

Not to mention: some revelation about why that swampy Dagobah System held such appeal for the little green guy.

The Entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series (seasons 1 – 6 ) will be on Netflix March 7, 2014.

WWOOOHOOOOO! Faith in Disney: Restored. I just started season 3 but now I can't wait to see season 6, and everything in between! Though I've spoiled a lot of what happens from Wookiepedia. Even at 30 I think its a very well done series and I'd take any given season over the prequals any day. Not to bash the prequals, they have their moments, its just that The Clone Wars is so well done.

Honestly, I wasn't that thrilled with the Clone Wars at first. However, that was partly due to my "post-partum despression" over the end of the PT.

Now, I've been rewatching TCW starting with the Micro Series, TCW movie and right throughs Season 1 and I must say that it's a pretty excellent way to fill the gap between E's II & III. I'll be looking forward to Season 6.

On a side note, now that TCW is ending, I'll also be looking forward to Rebels. Great way to get the juices flowing for the PT!

Just finished the final season.  If you don't have Netflix, I highly recommend that you get it to catch this.  Well worth the watch.  It was nice to see some of the character interactions they paired together for the final season.  At first I was like "Oh no, not this guy again."  Once the episode moved along, it was nice to see how they closed the book on that character.  There were still enough open ends left to create stand alone movies or include some of the characters in future developments without getting hit too hard by fans.

I'll say this much, Yoda will most likely be getting a stand alone film from the vibes I got from watching the final season of the Clone Wars.  Get prepared everyone.

Right now Netflix is offering a 30 day free trial, so all you who don't want to subscribe, but want to watch The Clone Wars, now's your chance.  30 days is a good run to catch up on lots of shows.

Havinbg watched the first 3 season of TCW and currently in S4, Rebels has some MIGHTY BIG animation shoes to fill!

Kudos to George, Dave Filoni and the rest of the crew on a truly remarkable and stellar series. They have upped the ante for all animation not to mention managing to make the epic saga that is Star Wars that much bigger. Well done!

Yeah I wasnt a fan at first but got into it, the problem is that some of the episodes are obviously just filler, keeping the series stringing along to continue the franchise whilst others are fantastic and really fill in the gaps, sorry to see it ending as series six is quiet strong up to where I've seen it but please tell me there going to finish all the threads I hate it when tbey leVe one person thread just so as later there can be a what if ir follow up at a later date

I thought they were great and did a good job in connecting most of what was left. They could have gone even further I'm sure, but they had to end it somewhere. I really enjoyed that series.

This series did something that I don't think anybody expected.  It explained much of what we saw in the prequel trilogy better in most cases, than what the movies themselves portrayed.  If one was to watch Episode 1, then Episode 2, then all of the non-filler episodes of the Clone Wars series, then Episode 3, it makes much more sense.  You get a better idea of why these people were doing what they did, and why things were they way they were.

I always thought that the heart of what the Prequel Trilogy tried to do was great!  However, they lacked the nuanced story telling that would have made them an across the board favorite of all Star Wars fans.  The Clone Wars helped fill in the huge holes in all three movies, and gave us a better understanding what these characters were thinking, and feeling.  It also showed the layered genius, and diabolical precision with which Darth Sideous took control of the galaxy right under the noses of everyone who would have stood in his way!  The manipulation of both sides, the clouding of the Jedi's ability to see what was happening around them, and his use of their arrogance that their abilities could never fail them, all resulted in their destruction, and the birth of the empire with him as absolute ruler.  It also resulted in him gaining a vengeful, powerful ally willing to do any, and everything to ensure that his master's rule, once established, would continue forever.  Darth Vader.  All of these things were fantastic in their design, their scale, and scope!  The problem was, they were portrayed in such a ham handed way in the movies, so that few really came away with any appreciation for it.  The Clone Wars slowed things down a bit, and showed in much greater detail, and focus how this master plan came to fruition in Episode III.

I only wish it had gone on another FULL season at least.  I think there were some really fantastic story threads that could have been completed, which would only have painted Episode III in an even better light.
