So my Liberator is in for repairs and when she gets back, I kinda wanna customize her. Any thoughts? What have you guys done to customize your own Liberators in the past and how?

The more ideas and suggestions, the better, since, Well...

I've been considering a heavy gauge wire wrap for the handle portion. I think the bare copper color would be cool on either a light or dark hilt and it only looks better the more handling it receives. I think that would be a good idea for this hilt design.

This 'saber screams streamlined, so less is going to be more here. Consider some engraving (lettering, etc) and most certainly weathering. Think outside the box and beat the sith out of it. Scar it up with a dremel and some hard whacks with something sharp and/or pointy then give it a weathering paint job.

I *was* thinking about somehow getting a celtic design on the hilt, but I'm not sure how I'd go about doing that. Or how I would manage a weathered look on a silver libby. Dark is easy enough - sand her down in a few places, scratches here and there, etc - but the silver one not so much.

who says the base metal has to be silver colored? Sand it down to weather it if you'd like, then afterwards dry brush the high ridges with a contrasting color (copper, bronze, etc).

Verry good point and afterwords you may want to add a clear coat to protect the dry brushed areas. as far as the celtic designs get a peice of crome drain pipe and use that as practes and then engrave the designe on the libby

I'm having the same problem too. When I buy my Liberator I want to customize it to fit me. I was actually thinking about putting duct tape around the button area so it doesn't rub against my hand, there's probably better things to do than that, but to me it seems to make think of the light side of the force and make it more sense to me that way.
