why are the $100 plus sabers so expensive? is it because they come with sound boards or are they just made better?

i'm presuming it's because there is more machining required on them, and a lot of them can be broken down into sections, the MHS mentioned here and there. Not higher quality, probably the same (or similar) material, just more work done to it.

Yes, they're made from MHS parts instead of machined as a single piece of aluminum. This makes them more modular and complex, and increases the cost. I mean look at the Consular - it has that black hilt with the metal shroud, that's gotta be fairly complicated to machine and all. There's a definite step up in price when moving to those sabers - although I must say it's worth it!

Cowabunga! Also, you should know that there are other saber smith sites in the world. The reason most of us keep to US is due to the price and quality ratio. I have to say having looked around before I made my first purchase years ago the prices vs. products are much better here than every other place I found (and there are plenty). That still holds true today which is why I'm still here! M.A.V. |

the dominix v2 i like the long hilt compared to the initiate and its affordable but im trying to debate on what color i want. i want it to be more sith like but i already have 2 force fx darth maul lightsabers so red is getting kinda boring

The violet is a color that does cost more as it requires multiple LEDs (blue and red) to create that specific color. i wish i could do tht purple but i dnt have the money to have multiple colors i might just do green if its real bright with the heavy grade blade

My Dark Brother Has Put Forth A Very Good Example I To Have Had Issues With Vader's Vault...  (I don't want to turn this thread into a bashing VV thread, but just to get this story out and then get back on point) I was going to set up a project with VV, but I had so many issues with simple communication with their people, that I simply abandoned the project... (I later found an Independent Saber Smith, to get the job done, and for FAR CHEAPER than VV was gong to charge me) |
