I'm a newb with lightsabers, but the length and weight to me would indicate this is primarily a two-handed saber. I have no doubt some folks could easily handle this blade one handed but I find I want to grip with two hands and one hand is usually far up towards the emitter. Hope this answers your question?
It did, for that hilt. I'm hoping my grab bag is a V4 hilt, though if not, another Grab Bag adventure will be under way... You light side, or dark side?? |

Bought myself a grab bag last night. Not sure when it'll ship due to holidays and whatnot, but I'm excited all the same.
So far I've gotten a couple of V2 hilts out of it, but I'm hoping to strike some V4 gold on this run.
An Aeon v4 would be absolutely perfect. Especially if it turns out to be an LE!

The V4's seem to be a pretty popular hilt whine comes to the Grab Bags lately. From what I can see that seems to be what most of us have gotten in the last few months. No complaints: especially when you find out that your Grab Bag saber would have been more expensive had you chosen the hilt you received.  |

Now in 10 short days I plan on ordering the Dark Initiate LE V 4, no sound, Violet Amethyst, a 32" UltraEdge and a Grab Bag Saber, no blade, random colour+Covertech wheel. Best tip I can give is just go for it. I'm only a recent first time buyer myself, got myself a Dark Sentinel LE with Obsidian Lite sound, TRI Blazing Red, 36" Ultra edge Heavy Grade blade and also ordered a grab bag saber in Violet Amethyst with the same blade type. When both arrived, I was in shock at how amazing the hilts feel in your hands and even more shocked when I switched them both on. The sound from my Sentinel is incredible (well, was before i accidentally damaged the speaker! Now it has a slight crackle but I personally like it, gives of more of an evil feel now  ) and the grab bag saber turned out to be a Dominix LE V4, and with the Violet Amethyst, it just looks and feels incredible to wield. The best advice I can give is go for it, you won't be disappointed. |

The only suggestion I would give is to throw in a grab bag blade or two as well. It really is worth having extra blades as well. The Grab bag is a lot of fun, especially when you let the Force decide what you get. Its awesome to see what shows up. I scored a BR Dark Sentinel V4 (w/windows) and its my first BR saber and my first Sentinel, definitely impressed with the Sentinel line. |

Yes, but don't forget the added costs. Someone asked about this and got some numbers from Emory. I believe it was $30 shipping ($15 each way), plus $120 for Obsidian Lite install, because it involves rebuilding the saber. Normally, Obsidian Lite adds $75, so that's presumably $45 of labor. So for Obsidian v4 (normally $125), I'd expect something like $125 Obsidian v4 + $45 labor + $30 shipping = $200 to upgrade. |

Insofar as DIY, that is outside my expertise, but there are a bunch of people more confident in their soldering skills than I, so maybe one of them will pipe up.
