Thinking about a grab bag. I've got my baby, a Sentinel V4 with sound in guardian blue but I want one to mess around with. I know I'm totally at their mercy but what do you think the chances are if I put in the comments "anything but blue"? Think they'd honor that? I don't really mind any other color.
They're pretty accommodating; several people've even requested certain colors and had those fulfilled. Asking not to get 1 color is a pretty small request. |

I'd at least ask, although it is only $5.00 for a specific color. Or you can email them ( [email protected]) and ask. You may be able to pay an upgrade charge (possibly less than the full $5, but that's up to them) to get a random non-blue color. I do have to say that Green and Red seem to be the most common two colors. EVERY saber I've received that I didn't specify the color on has been Green. All of them. It's a conspiracy. |

Ever since the rush began, it looks like US has been upgrading their grabs to be higher priced, such as adding covertec wheels and premium colors. It's very generous of them!

I very much doubt they'll allow that XD If you're 100% positive that you don't want blue, you might as well think of a specific color and just pay 5$ (or $10) extra for a specific color. Actually, in your situation, I'd recommend adegan silver with color discs so you can get a taste of a bit of everything.
Actually I personally think if you asked that it not be blue in the comments of the order, they would probably oblige you, there are many other colors for them to send. |

I can't wait to see what mine is, though I do have to wait until Tuesday.  This is so much fun. I know I ordered something, I know it's going to be awesome, I just don't yet know what it is. As for asking not to have a blue blade: it never hurts to ask. The worst thing that can happen is that your saber arrives and it does have a blue blade. But, with 6 non-blue colors available, I'm sure it's not out of the realm of possibility that they'll see that and pick one of those colors. This is my first experience with this company, but they seem cool. |

Just ordered my first ever saber, a grab bag, with everything random. I'm super duper excited. My son and I play duel with his cheapo plastic vader lightsaber from target. I use a flippin' blue pool noodle  This is going to blow his little mind.  |

Anyone have trouble with the sound with a grab bag saber? I got one with the simple 4 Alkaline battery setup but the saber makes some sound then makes a popping or clicking noise, the powering down sound works but no constant hum or power on sound. I don't wanna start rooting around the wires and make it worse trying to fix it.

Grab bag sabers aren't supposed to have sound. They're supposed to be stunt sabers only, according to the website.
If you got one with sound, you're incredibly lucky. You can always write US and see what they say about it. They may be willing to fix it under the warranty.

I got these two grab bags on May 4th.  These are birthday presents. I delivered them yesterday. I have given both people the option of having them upgraded as Christmas presents. I am wondering what that would cost roughly to get them upgraded for sound. I know going to the LITE is the cheapest option as it doesn't require changing the battery back to Li-Ion and all the stuff relate to it. But I'd like a rough idea for each of the three sound option upgrades so I have a clue what I'll be getting myself into for Christmas. Assume both with and without added FoC. The Apprentice v4 is about as basic as possible. The Initiate v4 has a non Illuminated AV switch already. |

Good post!! I'm pretty new at this and I bought a few grab bags for myself and son to see if we liked it. Same as you said, now I'm definitely going to go full in, love Ultrasabers. However I will also be buying grab bags as xmas presents for the family. I feel the need to spread the addiction across the bloodline. JoeDaddy Darkside out..
