It occurs to me that with the Raven, the new prototype, the Bellicose, Chosen One, Shock LE we're getting closer and closer to an all-US collection to replicate Lord Starkiller's. We just need Rahm Kota's (a wrapped Standard Issue?) and a lightsabre pike... |

My entry and 3rd placed prize have just arrived, package has been opened, and im like a 6 year old on christmas day  So my entry was a NP Guardian in DVA with 1.2A recharge (already loving the recharge port!) and my 3rd place prize was a Dark Standard Issue in BR (US must have noticed the sith vibes coming from me..!) Reviews on both will be coming soon.. |

Okay, so... My order arrived. My Consular is exactly as fantastic as I imagined it would be - a little smaller, but that's fine as I was expecting it to be Guardian-sized and in truth the Guardian is a heavy, heavy hilt. In short, I'm delighted with it. My prize... Well, I thought it was the dark protoype that Hazard scored, the counterpart to julmax' July raffle prize. On closer inspection, it's not that at all. I'm delighted to say that it looks like US have at least two new lines in the works for potential Aeon/Dominix v4s...  I've been busy snapping photos of both of them for a review to be posted tonight/tomorrow, but it's only when I checked in here that I realised it wasn't the same. It seems like this may have been one they've trialling at cons, as there's a photo of an Initiate version at http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=21464.0. Mine is definitely full-sized, though, and for those of you know know my opinions on the ergonomics of the various US hilts, let me just say that as soon as I picked it up I thought "Prophecy"... |

My computer's playing up right now, so its taken a long time to sort out the photos and now I'll have to do the full review tomorrow. The emitter is windowed horizontally, which is something different from other windowed emitters US have produced, I believe.

I ordered a Manticore with the emerald driver after much agonizing - I thought well they're having a raffle so now is probably the best time to invest that much. I love the Manticore, I really love that I can have pretty much any colour I please, I've been playing with the settings to get it pulse just right for me... and thank you to all the people who've posted so much helpful info on the technical details of the emerald driver, seriously helpful. Anyway I am happy as you can tell. Parcel only arrived yesterday so I'll still be exploring the possibilities today. And on another happy note I scored a 4th prize in the raffle. I think it's an Aeon v3? The colour looks like violet amethyst. It's a good length for 2 handed work much like the Manticore. I've circled my prize below. And yes I've started switching pommels and mucking around with 'O' rings already. Like Xmas for me.  |

If need be go out and buy a new computer tonight and show us some pics mister! *calms down a little* Phew, got that off my chest! Seriously tho congrats James, it's exciting having something to look forward to coming back here throughout the week(lies, every day  ). Looking forward to seeing your Consular and prize! Thought that would catch your attention, Prowl And yeah, sorry about the delay - for some reason my copy of Picture Manager is on the fritz and I had to go through and crop/resize/save 40-odd pictures individually. Fun! It does mean I might hear back from US about the origin of the hilt in the mean time, though. I'd like to be able to say whether it's likely to be a production design or if, for example, they're more likely to go with the design julmax and hazard have got if the intention is to release Aeon/Dominix v4's in the near future. Maybe one's to be a Liberator evolution? On a side note, it's come in Fire Orange - the one colour I didn't have in a standard LED/MLS unit |
