I spent Sunday afternoon toying with a quick and cheap hilt wrap on my Standard Issue V3.  I used twill trim, a tea-dyed gauze bandage and double sided fabric tape.  The wrap also includes an integrated d-ring (not pictured) for hanging on a belt.  Total cost for the wrap was about 4 dollars with enough material left over for another saber or two if I had been less wasteful.  I've since removed the wrap since I wasn't thrilled with the final result, but I'd already taken pictures, so here they are.

Also pictured is my DIY blade plug, made from a copper pipe coupler, a bobbin, a film canister and bit of sticky-backed foam sheet.

Quick word of advice for anyone looking to use double sided tape on their hilt: I'd recommend fashion tape over fabric tape.  Fashion tape sticks well can be easily removed later on.  The fabric tape, on the other hand, was a nightmare to clean off of the hilt.

Suppose I'd go with light side, if given the choice. Thanks.

I was looking for leather or suede myself but couldn't find anything that would be wide enough to wrap without adding too much girth to the blade.  I suppose if I wanted, I could hand skive some leather straps but I've found that to be a pain in the past.

I haven't put any thought into decals so I may be the wrong guy to ask.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with though.

I work with leather on my tribal crafts, and I do understand the pain it can be to stretch it lol. I used gorrilla glue for the strap. Im using a mobile phone for internet, but as soon as I figure out how to add pictures ill post for you Smiley

It's all about the Benjamins, and I don't have many, but ideally, I want a Manticore CE in SY with Obsidian for Emerald, FoC orange.
