Dueling against a replica lightsaber?

I plan on buying a Bellicose with a miod grade blade. I have a friend who cannot afford one from here and plans on buying a pre-made replica from Amazon, like the Obi Wan fx saber with removable blade for example. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Lightsaber-Removable-Blade/dp/B003I86C94/ref=pd_sim_dbs_t_1 The removable blade have sound and polycarbonite blades just like the custom ones so is the only only difference in those cases the fact that they are non-custom and don't look as nice?  Could they handle full contact dueling with a Bellicose with a mid-grade blade?

No, your Ultra Saber will destroy that. My suggestion would be for him to get a grab bag. That way he gets a cheap saber that will hold up against yours, until he can afford one with sound.

It depends on what you get.  Grab Bag is a random hilt purchase you could get just about anything.  While it definitely will not come with sound pre-installed certain hilts can be upgraded or modified to accommodate sound.

It's very unlikely you will get one of the hilts with sound, even if if's just configured to be a stunt saber.  The grab bags are really only if you're looking to get a random discounted standard saber, one of the ones not designed for sound.  You could put sound in them if you're savvy - I've seen someone put econo sound in an Initiate hilt even!

Fx sabers Dont duel very well: 1 The hilt is bulky with bits and bobs in the way of were you would want to put your hands
                                                 2 The hilt is heavy compared to an ultrasaber ( they run on either 3 or 6 AA batteries ultasabers run on either 2 or 4 AAA batteries or li ion) thats a lot of extra
                                                    weight to be swinhing around
                                                 3 The fx has no balance what so ever making it unwieldy
                                                 4 The on/off swithes are in the worst possible place causing you turn them off in mid duel
                                                 5 Once the blade gets knocked a few times the led's in the blade get damaged resulting in dark spaces on your blade as in ultra's photo.

So the answer is a defo no, the ultrasaber will damage the fx saber in about 2 mins of dueling
As one of the other guys said go for a grab bag, I can vouch how good they are.

Kalibos made some very good points, and let me also add that it's possible to send your fx saber into US and get it converted for dueling.  Yet another option is waiting for Ultra to open up the Custom Saber Operations division.  Then you might be able to get it converted AND have an Obsidian board installed!  Speaking from experience, having a customized fx hilt with Obsidian sound is awesome

Once in a while, something a Belicose, or a Shock, or something like that will come in the grab bag, but 95% of the time it's just a basic hilt, like a Dominix, or even an old PVC hilt. But he'll get a dual able saber on the cheap until he can save up for whatever it is he really wants. His first saber won't be the one he really wants, and he'll spend money he could put towards what he really wants, but it beats destroying his Force-FX.
